11th February 2026:

  • Changed auto-stack item feature to use 3 settings toggle in Game Settings instead of on/off:
    • Disabled = never automatically stack picked up items (vanilla behaviour)
    • Same Condition = only stack items with the same damage condition
    • Always = always stack items together regardless of condition
      • Note: non-splitable items will never automatically stack to existing items
      • Note: disinfected items will never auto-stack with non-disinfected items
  • Added ability to harvest logs from static log piles with a handsaw/hacksaw
  • Added map item to tool slot for backpacks etc (like compass) and grenade slots
  • Added crab cans to empty leftover item config
  • Sakhal: Crafting hooks out of empty cans now requires fishing craft perk + awards EXP
  • Sakhal: Fixed the old stone rebuildable wells on Sakhal (for reals this time)
    • Reminder on both servers: if you have an old well near your secluded base, you can repair it!

8th February 2026:

  • Items will now list which repair kits can be used to repair them in their item description
  • Several minor bugfixes and code tidy-up with our custom mods

7th February 2026:

  • Fixed auto-combine item stack feature combining dirty rags/items with disinfected rags/items
  • Moved Livonia to new server instance which means you'll need to find & favourite it in your server browser again
  • Direct connect to 103.193.80.6:2702 if you can't find it
  • This is to try to fix the restart issues where the game gets stuck rebooting over and over - changing instances seemed to fix Chernarus so fingers crossed it'll fix Livonia now too.

6th February 2026:

  • Transitioned to late winter (rainy, still cold)
  • Made field transceivers deployable
  • Fixed swiss knife not being usable to craft crossbow bolts
  • Prevented AI missions from spawning within an Expansion Territory perimeter

31st January 2026:

  • Changed to full Winter for the next week
  • Added a tooltip to all food items which will say they smell strange when rotten
  • Fixed some Boomlay recipes only requiring 1 wooden plank instead of 10x wooden planks (beds, workbench etc)
  • Updated repacked Terje mods to their latest versions which includes a few minor fixes and improvements
  • Changed all servers to restart 4 hours after uptime
    • Instead of restarting at fixed schedules, the restart will now occur 4 hours after the last boot up
    • I'm testing this to see if it will help with the restart loop issues in case it's a file I/O issue
    • This means restarts will no longer be on a predictable schedule, but should mean more uptime overall because when the server updates mods/crashes/etc it won't still restart at 4 hour fixed intervals in addition to those restarts

25th January 2026:

  • Fixed several random minor bugs (one of them possibly related to server restart issues - we'll see)
  • Fixed notifications not working properly for certain server messages (eg restart warnings)
  • Fixed some delivery quests not requiring you to actually keep the item (eg. briefcase quests)
  • Added craftable beds (press B to check crafting recipe) and buyable paint tube at Sanctuary tool trader
    • Beds act like sleeping bags and keep you warm when sleeping
    • They also have reasonable storage slots
    • The paint tube can be used to change the fabric colour
  • Added ability to rip clothes into a rag with your bare hands (gives 1 badly damaged or ruined rag if no knife is used)
  • Added ability to warm up & defrost some items with a blowtorch (eg. food/soda cans, flasks, jerrycans)
    • This will also damage the target item, so be careful not to ruin the item you're heating!
    • If you do this on meats/fruits/etc it will burn them after a while so don't try to cook with it

24th January 2026:

  • Switched to Early Winter season
  • Added the ability to use a BBP tape measure on any structure to list its raid health and required raid materials
    • This deals 10HP damage to the tape measure which has 100 max HP - so a pristine tape measure can be used 10x
  • Added written texture to notes & a bunch of different coloured Bic lighters for the stoners and cigarette smokers
  • Made vehicle workbenches able to be dismantled with items still attached (they'll drop to the floor)
    • This will fix any workbenches which have unretrievable items stuck on them from my attachment slots rework
  • Reduced health and blood loss of bullet wounds significantly to give more time to treat multiple wounds
  • Fixed custom hip-bag slot not applying clothing heat benefits to players based on items worn in that slot
  • Fixed players being killed while uncon when they are kicked from server at restarts/mod updates/etc (I think)
  • Fixed water in flasks and empty whisky bottles not being purifiable with chlorine tabs
  • Re-enabled dog attachments - I think I've fixed the disappearing items with MapLink, but not 100% sure yet
    • People keep asking for dog slots back so I'm re-enabling them while I still work on fixing dogs with MapLink
    • Never store anything particularly valuable in the dog inventories, especially if you travel between maps via MapLink

16th January 2026:

  • Added automatic mic-check to game settings menu to detect mic amplitude when speaking
    • If this is enabled you'll be notified if your microphone is not transmitting audio
    • To disable this feature set MIC CHECK to disabled in the game settings under ZENARCHIST category
  • Added vanilla first aid kit to wearable Canteen belt slot
  • Added experimental auto-stack code: picked up items should auto-add themselves to existing stacks
    • You can turn this behaviour off in your game settings under the "AUTO-STACK ITEMS" setting
    • It is enabled by default - check the ZENARCHIST Game Settings category to turn it off
  • Fixed skill EXP penalty not applying upon respawn - you now lose 5% skill EXP on respawns as intended
  • Players who kill other players will also lose 5% skill EXP to punish wanton KOS
    • KOS is still allowed on the server but you'd better choose your targets wisely if you value your skill EXP!

13th January 2026:

  • Moved a heap of our core mods over to the new mod framework (still very many to go - FML)
  • Airdrop containers should now drop all their contents on the ground at server restarts
  • Fixed airdrop satellite dishes not spawning on radio towers for calling drops with the circuitboard
  • Re-enabled group storage of vehicles (should be 1-car-per-person that can be stored)

8th January 2026:

  • Improved weapon engraving GUI and improved netsync code to make name sync better from server -> game clients
    • Engraved guns will now only track the kill stats of the player who engraved it (and I added longest shot)
    • Unfortunately if you engraved your weapon it may be corrupted now and you might lose all your chambered bullets - sorry
    • Friendly reminder if you weren't aware: using a knife on any gun will "engrave" it with your name & stats (ruins the knife!)
  • Fixed several client-side error messages and bad code - thanks everyone who has opted in to the crash reports! <3
    • These client-side errors are not always critical, but some are, and cleaning them up will make the game run better for us all
    • Reminder: if you want to help me improve how the game runs turn on "CRASH REPORTER" in the game settings

7th January 2026:

  • Made toy bears deployable and last one week for those who need a friend ;)
  • Optimized a bunch of our older mods using the new code framework (continuous WIP)
  • Fixed raid alarm not being buildable or dismantlable
  • Fixed milk bottles not giving any thirst or hunger nutrients (my apologies to any affected babies)
  • Fixed my custom fishing junk mod: you now have the rare chance to catch more variety of junk (eg. compass)
  • Increased C130J airdrop plane speed slightly
    • I want the plane to be somewhat trackable on foot by players who see it, but also have realistic airspeed
    • Reminder that if you pay attention to the plane: red light = airdrop pending, green light = dropped
    • If you have a radio on then Airdrop notifications will now say the nearest town instead of map coordinates
  • The overhaul continues... won't be any new content for a while as I work through optimizing the next 50+ mods
    • If you'd like to help me fix bugs quicker, please turn 'ENABLE CRASH REPORTS' on in your settings menu so I can see what errors you experience while playing.
    • I was going to enable this feature by default but ChatGPT told me that's probably unethical and/or against the law so you've gotta opt-in voluntarily
    • Even though my crash report mod doesn't send personal info - sending file data off your PC to me still requires "consent", so I'm not a Digital Diddy
    • If you opt-in, the only data I receive is script error logs telling me the line of code which caused an error - ie. nerdy stuff to help me fix shit.
    • The data is only sent while you are loading in, and only includes 1-day error logs related to my servers, so it won't affect your gameplay whatsoever
  • Cheers guys - got a bit on this week but hoping to work through the rest of our mods fairly quickly now I have a groove on while I'm rewatching Silicon Valley

6th January 2026:

  • Removed Christmas stuff
  • Fixed logging in on water causing you to not be able to move
  • Reworked some more core mods to use my new code framework - may be bugs, I'm trying to take this process slow

5th January 2026:

  • Fixed car workbenches being the wrong way around and not accepting some attachments
  • Converted some more code to use our core framework - still work-in-progress
  • Fixed several minor bugs and prevented being able to place invisible holograms (which deletes your item)

4th January 2026:

  • Began reworking all our 100+ custom mods to use a core framework to improve server performance & stability
    • This is an on-going process which will take a long time and may produce new bugs, but is worth the trouble
  • Fixed withdrawing group member vehicles from the virtual garage locking you out if you're not the last driver (I think)
  • Added an internal client error log sender which you can opt-in to for helping me fix bugs and improve the server
    • Under Game settings you can turn "ENABLE CRASH REPORTS" to Enabled (please do if you are willing to help me out)
    • Whenever you login to the server with this enabled, you will then automatically send your crash logs to me
    • These client-side crash logs provide helpful info on what errors you experience during your play session
    • It does not send any personal data - only stack trace errors to help me identify what code needs fixing
    • If you encounter any issues while logging in with it enabled you can re-disable it from the main menu settings
  • Added "LOG FILES DELETION" setting to Game settings (disabled by default)
    • This setting will automatically delete any leftover game log files from past play sessions
    • These files last forever if you don't delete them and can accumulate a lot of hard drive space over time
    • You can manually delete them if you prefer - press Windows Key + R then enter this: %localappdata%/DayZ
    • These are the only files which should be deleted: *.log, *.rpt, *.mdmp
  • Made WatchGPS wearable on hippack slot, and armband attachable to hippack slot, so you can wear both
    • Note: there is a bug where if you put it on the wrong slot it will not be visible on your character from your view
    • I cannot do anything about this bug unfortunately - but other players can still see the item on your character
  • Temporarily disabled item lifetime restriction for selling freshly spawned items til I can fix bugs
  • Moved to Late Winter - and several other fixes and changes I probably forgot to mention. PS. Happy new year!

31st December 2025:

  • Fixed roofless UAZ variants not accepting vehicle attachments
  • Fixed unlootable loot spawning in some areas on Chernarus oil rig (should help disperse military loot better)
  • Fixed several client-side script warnings and errors in our mods, should improve game stability
  • Added Terje medicine signs to all in-game hospitals for basic survival info
  • Buying cars will now automatically lock the wheels when car spawns

28th December 2025:

  • Fixed camo nets not having winter texture
  • Fixed taser mags being empty when bought from trader or spawned on zeds/AI as loot
  • Added a notification to inform you if your gun might be bugged with a ghost bullet (vanilla issue)
  • Added craftable dog shed recipe for storing dog pets (check book in-game for recipe)
  • Added ice lakes back in to winter Livonia server (not as good as Chernarus's ice lakes - working on that)
  • Boomlay's workbench will now notify you if you don't have enough gas to craft a blowtorch recipe
  • Town PA systems will now retain their car batteries if you leave them attached over server restarts

27th December 2025:

  • Donations via donate.hardcoredayz.com should now:
    • Give you an automatic Discord Donor role
    • Give you a novelty t-shirt in-game for donating
    • ^ Let me know if these don't work and I'll handle it manually
    • Allow you to donate $50+ to create a custom faction & skins (solo players can have factions too)
  • Fixed car race (Grand Prix) quest not saving player records
  • Fixed paintings not being sellable at Sanctuary tool trader
  • Fixed worms spawning on zombies with decimal quantities (I think - untested - let me know if you see any decimal worms)
  • Fixed Head Hunter quest not accepting Polar Bear head trophies
  • Fixed Silver Bars requiring a 1+ hour cooldown to sell/exchange
  • Added some more AI mission variety to Livonia AI radio missions
  • Christmas baseball bats and trees are now only craftable during December
  • Increased Santa zombie spawns for the next couple of days for questers
    • Removed Christmas clothes & gifts from world loot spawn table
  • Tentatively re-enabled painting mod - but the item must be empty of cargo to paint it
    • Annoying I know: the 1.28 hotfix introduced a weird server crash bug whenever I try to copy an old item's inventory cargo into a new item's inventory so until I figure out why this new server crash happens this is the only way to enable painting I think
    • PLEASE TELL ME IF ATTEMPTING TO PAINT ANYTHING CRASHES THE SERVER AGAIN! This temporary no-cargo fix may not work - it's just a guess on my part.
  • BBP gates/doors/windows etc will now auto-lock their codelocks on restarts (they already auto-closed, but they did not auto-lock if their codelock was left in the "unlock" state)

17th December 2025:

  • Killing dogs now has a negative effect on your mental health stat
  • Fixed typo on crafting workbench greenhouse kit recipe
  • You can only un-roll joints which have not been smoked at all
  • You can now repair maps up to WORN by using them on each other (repairs the one in hands by "absorbing" health)
  • Added notification to inform player of car jack requirement when attempting to remove tires from cars
  • NBC zombies can now cause chemical poisoning if they hit you while any body part is unprotected by NBC gear
  • Switched to early winter

16th December 2025:

  • Added invisible dynamic zones fix by this mod author: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3620439008
  • Fixed barrels getting stuck in non-interactable state on covered trucks
  • Fixed swiss knife Screwdriver and Sewing Kit modes not allowing their expected actions
  • Fixed player getting stuck in unmoveable state when logging in on boats (I think)
  • Fixed dog kill stats and name not persisting when travelling between maps
    • Still working on the disappearing inventory bugs - attachments remain hidden for now sorry
  • Fixed radio cassettes staying in Boomboxes when traveling between maps with radio playing
  • You can smoke 2 cigarettes now before coughing/stamina reduction starts
    • Stamina reduction is now only reduced by 25% instead of 50% (if you're coughing)
    • Chance to cough has been reduced a lot to be less annoying
  • Marijuana joints can now be un-rolled with any sharp item, giving paper + cannabis back
  • Changed giftboxes to last for 1 week, so you can leave gifts under your tree which won't despawn too quick
  • We will transition into early winter tomorrow sometime before I go on a trip - full winter may come around Christmas depending on my internet availability

15th December 2025:

  • Added craftable Christmas tree: use Christmas Lights on a Wooden Log to make a placeable kit
  • Added armband attachment slot to MMG gear lockers and stands
  • Added motorbike wheels, Tractor wheels and Bus wheels to tire rack slots
  • BBP gates/doors/etc will now auto-close on server restarts if left open
  • Changed Christmas Quest rewards as gifts spawned by scripts only have glowsticks inside (whoops - unintentional troll)
  • Fixed casino chips requiring 1.5 hour cooldown to sell to trader for cash
  • Fixed treasure photos not displaying "I can't read this" text for photos you can't dig
    • Only the person who initially read the photo will spawn the stash when they get within ~10 meters of it
    • This is designed to prevent people stealing other people's stashes once they know where they spawn
    • So if you find a photo which was already read by someone else, now it will say "I can't read the text"
  • Fixed Terje's mind stat icon breaking client-side sync when respawning as a fresh character
  • Destroying stones & dead tree clutter near base territories will now remove it for 90 days instead of 30 days
  • Temporarily removed dog slot icons except for mouth until I can find time to fix attachment despawn issue
  • Aware of some loot spawn issues on Chernarus - I think it's fixed but takes a while to update loot

12th December 2025:

  • Enabled Christmas Quest: find the Santa zombies and kill them. This quest can be repeated DAILY!
  • Inedia's settings don't seem to work for some features - so I have used script code to:
    • Force disable zombie jumping behaviour
    • Force disable any zombie behaviour which might cause them to hit players without animation sync
    • I'm aware zombies are annoying as fuck at times - working on it - want them to be hard, but not feel bugged.
  • Tweaked some Terje Medicine features:
    • Reduced "pain" visual effect intensity by 50%
    • Reduced time for minor wounds to heal when bandaged from 1 hour to 30 minutes
    • Increased time it takes for a clean bandage to go from clean to dirty from 5 mins to 10 mins
    • These new settings mean you should only have to change/clean a dirty bandage ~2-3 times before it heals
    • I also removed health loss from "dirty" bandages - but you will still leak blood, and potentially get sepsis
    • You can use surgery kits to speed this whole process up - but beware, a major wound with no surgery kit = way worse!
  • Added swords to backpack tool slot (for the modded ninjato swords only their sheaths can go on the backpack)
  • Added Boomlay paintings and plants back in for home decorators (and they're worth selling at the Sanctuary tool trader)
  • Added the ability to move holograms around in all directions based on holding a key while scrolling the mouse
    • To move the hologram forwards/backwards hold left CTRL
    • To move the hologram up/down hold left ALT
    • To move the hologram left/right hold both left CTRL and left ALT
    • You can rebind these keys in the keybinds menu under ZEN
    • You have to hold the key for a second before it will work
    • This is useful for placing notes, paintings, and objects which may clip inside of walls when placing them
  • Made the new Christmas baseball bat craftable by combining Christmas Lights with a Baseball Bat
    • The "Festive Baseball Bat" has a 70% chance to one-tap kill zombies from ANY hit you land on them
    • It can also open any food canned item without spilling any of the contents
    • After the Christmas event is over these will no longer be craftable and they can't be repaired - so stock up!
  • Reduced the chance to cough after smoking more than one cig in a short time window from 10% to 5% per 10 seconds
  • Temporarily disabled painting mod as it still causes server crashes with some items - will fix when I can
  • Fixed sleeping not increasing mind stat

11th December 2025:

  • Fixed fishing action breaking player and freezing actions/inventory
  • Fixed several modded optics not being repairable with electric repair kit
  • Fixed M key opening the Map way after it should if hands were full/driving/etc
  • Fixed not being able to place certain items in auto-generated no-build-zones
  • Fixed zombies sometimes spawning items with weird decimal quantities
  • Fixed dexamphetamine tablets randomly changing their quantity on server restarts
  • Added static tire racks & car workbenches in various locations to spawn car parts
  • Increased medicine item spawns on medical zombies (doctors, paramedics, nurses)
  • Changed Jacket zombies to be very slow and strong, and NBC zombies are now tougher
  • Feeding your dog now increases your mental health stat
  • Reduced car heater sound significantly (why is it louder than the engine lol)
  • Reduced dog growl sound frequency significantly and removed crappy barking sounds
  • Reduced cigarette pack quantity spawn on zombies from full 20 to 2-10 per pack
  • Reduced cigarette antidepressant level to a level 1 effect instead of level 3
  • Reduced dexamphetamine effect duration from 10 minutes to 5 minutes, was a bit OP
    • They also now have a delayed fuse - they take 5 minutes to kick in after eating, so plan ahead!
  • Smoking a full cigarette will now reduce your stamina recovery by 50% for 15 minutes
    • This effect stacks per cigarette: so chain-smokers, beware!
    • You might also cough randomly for a while if you've smoked too much
  • Expansion quests will now notify you of which reward you received

9th December 2025:

  • Added a Discord server: discord.hardcoredayz.com
    • This is just for important announcements and for finding friends
    • You can flag yourself with the @Looking For Group role in the #lfg channel
    • If you're looking for a group, join the Discord and PM anyone with the @Looking For Group role
  • Changed to Late Winter
    • This month will be a fast season cycle (~5 days per season)
    • I want Christmas to be Deep Winter, but don't want to leave winter on all month
  • Fixed random objects despawning for no reason (sorry guys I know that one is the worst bug of all)
  • Fixed spraypaint crashing the server (I THINK) - no crashes in testing at least, but:
    • Please open a new ticket on GitHub if painting an item crashes the game or server and let me know:
      • What spraycan color you used
      • What item you used it on
      • If the item you used it on had any attachments or items inside of it
  • Fixed several animal types not spawning during winter (eg. wolves)
    • Turned up wolf spawns during winter - packs are a little bigger
  • Fixed Expansion items and vehicles not spawning with attachments
  • Fixed Expansion quest items losing their quest ID when map traveling
    • This means you can now travel between maps while delivery quests are active without breaking the quest
  • Fixed Chernarus intro quest cancelling when you logout (^ or map travel with radio in cargo)
  • Fixed "Building Heat Source" being visible as an action target
  • Fixed not being able to disinfect filled syringes
  • Fixed skinning rats and squirrels giving Crafting EXP instead of Hunting
  • Increased engine oil spawns significantly on both maps
  • Eating warm food will now increase your mind stat
  • Eating cat food and dog food will now decrease your mind stat
  • Disabled InediaInfectedAI's zombie jumping feature as it's buggy AF

5th December 2025:

  • Wiped server for 1.28 hotfix and implemented a bunch of backend features which required a wipe
  • Added building comfort mod (being indoors will raise your heat; seek shelter during snowstorms!)
  • Added RaG Immersive Vehicles mod
    • Cars now require motor oil to be maintained (they have an oil light on the HUD)
      • Just look at the engine with oil in your hands to refill oil
      • Loot an oil dipstick to check oil levels (red light will come on when low anyway)
    • Cars now require wheels to be LOCKED with a lugwrench or they'll fall off while driving!
    • Cars now require a jack to lift them before tires can be removed (industrial spawns)
    • Cars now have functional heaters in them (only if all doors and trunk are closed)
    • Cars now have interior lights when any door is opened
  • Added ladders all over the place to get to typically unreachable areas
  • Added casino back to Sanctuary (blackjack and other games of chance)
  • Fixed P2P traders not working at gas stations on Livonia
  • Fixed my custom street lights not working at night time
  • Fixed compass not being attachable to vehicle dashboards & added it to motorbike
  • Fixed object removal code to use DabsFramework's object remover (way more reliable)
    • You can now only remove objects (tree stumps/rocks/bushes/etc) within your Territory radius
  • Changed mind status to never regenerate without consuming a mind-boosting item (antidepressant, cigarettes etc)
  • Speaking in-game to other players who are alive and conscious will also increase your mental health stat now
  • Critical mental state (red mind icon) now affects action speed instead of performing random emotes
    • Red flashing mental health = all actions take 3x as long
    • Red mental health = all actions take 2x as long
    • Yellow mental health = all actions take 1.25x as long
    • Your character will still cry or giggle like a school girl if you get too depressed
  • Reduced chance of getting useful items (guts/bones/rags/etc) from skinning zombies by 90%
  • Reduced rate of sepsis (blood poisoning) accumulation speed by 90% to give more time to find meds
    • Also moved sepsis cure spawns to exclusively medical zones instead of medical + military
  • The blood bear quest now guarantees a Blood Bear will spawn in the area
    • You will get a notification saying a blood bear is nearby when within ~200m
    • If the blood bear does not spawn for any reason, you'll get an error message notifying you
  • You can now only sell an item to the NPC traders ~1.5 hours after it is first picked up by a player

28th November 2025:

  • Added Name management mod to manage in-game names from in-game instead of Steam launcher
  • Added InediaAI mod to temporarily stress test it, may remove it if server performance struggles
    • Most features are disabled except for their smarter search behaviour
    • They will also be more attracted to lights/fires/noises
  • Dark nights are now always enabled
    • Zombie's max speed at night is walking speed. This is only when it's super dark (~11PM-3AM)
    • Looting in the dead of night is now much easier... if you dare using a light and risk running into players
  • Fixed Watch GPS showing real-life time of day instead of in-game time of day

23rd November 2025:

  • Fixed weather snowing when not overcast
  • Fixed multiple static cement mixers spawning

22nd November 2025:

  • Fixed SET TALKING/STOP TALKING debug messages playing when talking to AI
  • Added 2 new recipes to Crafting Workbench and tweaked blowtorch gas usage
  • Removed ability to put ghillie suits on crossbag slot as they don't work with vanilla

19th November 2025:

  • You can now grow plants in early & late winter but ONLY in greenhouses
  • In full winter you can only grow plants at Sanctuary greenhouse and nowhere else
  • Added "apprenticeship" skilling (nearby players get 50% of skill EXP for non-quest/book actions)

17th November 2025:

  • Dynamic animated helicopters have been removed as they can cause server crashes
  • Cars will now automatically lock when you drive into a safe zone
  • Cooking food now awards Survival EXP
  • EXP progress bar now stacks EXP gained

16th November 2025:

  • Fixed several minor bugs
  • Changed to Early Winter
  • Updated medical trader market prices for Terje medicine items
  • Removed Terje's coma feature as it's a little too buggy in some situations
  • Reworked car locking code in safezones to make it harder for retards to cheese it
    • Cars will now not allow a new player to enter it until 1 minute after it's been unlocked
    • You can now lock it by looking at any part of car instead of only from driver seat
    • Members of your Expansion group party can enter a locked car any time (except drivers seat)
    • Cargo and attachments are now only visible to the player who locked the car
    • Car's display name when you look at it will now say [LOCKED] if the car is locked
  • Watch GPS now acts as Expansion GPS (you can use Expansion GPS hotkey for HUD)

6th November 2025:

  • Replaced repacked itz_groundcleaning mod with my own custom mod which is more robust
    • The itz mod did not consistently sync removed objects outside the network bubble
    • This caused all kinds of jankiness where objects didn't exist on server, but still did on client
    • My new mod allows you to remove rocks, trees, bushes etc for long periods of time
    • Should sync to all clients always - so clearing an area for your base or car is much better now!
    • There may be a slight delay when you login sometimes before all the objects load in and disappear
  • Added "day time" and "night time" to the Watch GPS tooltip description
    • Helps you know how rested you'll get if you sleep at the current time
  • Worms now have a chance to spawn on rotted apples and pears - great for bait as a freshy!
  • Fixed broken arm splint spawning on players (unfinished dev code I forgot to remove from modpack)

4th November 2025:

  • Fixed cannabis plants not deleting themselves when harvested on Chernarus server
  • Nerfed Terje medical's injury animation for sicknesses to be a little less harsh
  • CookZ food now gives level 1 antidepressant effect equal to its quantity to make it more worthwhile
    • The idea being that fancy food during an apocalypse is a mood-lifter
    • Generally, the more ingredients required for the recipe, the longer the effect lasts
    • These food items already give significantly more nutrients than vanilla food

  • Enabled Terje's medical coma feature (experimental)
    • If you get extremely close to death, you might go into a coma state
    • This gives other players a short window of time to revive you (about 5 minutes)
    • You will need urgent medical treatment immediately
    • CPR will revive players, but Adrenaline injections or Defibrillator will give the patient a better chance
    • If no one is around to help you, you can force-respawn earlier by hitting Escape -> respawn
    • There is a 1 hour cooldown for this feature - if it happens again within that window, you're dead.

  • Added in-game chat hints every ~30 minutes
    • To turn them off go to game settings and toggle Game Messages off

  • Fixed MapLink config to show Chernarus/Livonia properly since Sakhal was removed
    • Also made it so if the game crashes while transferring maps, you can login directly to the server you were transferring to - just relaunch your game but connect to the server you tried to transfer to
  • Nerfed a bunch of item collisions (car doors/wheels/fireplaces can now be driven through without incurring damage)
  • Zombies can now damage car tires as well as car parts when you run over them at speed

  • I got impatient with Bohemia's delays for pushing 1.29 to stable, so we've wiped early
    • Server pop has been so low, I figure why wait another 2-3 weeks to wipe
    • There is currently no indication that community servers will need to wipe when 1.29 releases anyway
    • If I'm wrong about that - my apologies. If that happens, due to the new mods we're running, treat it as a test phase!
  • Removed Sakhal due to extra server costs and low pop - but we're running seasons now including winter maps
  • Added Terje's advanced medicine mod - works very similar to the old Syberia medical mod: wiki guide
  • Added some custom mods we used to run back in the Syberia days back in (eg. polar bears, rolling joints + cigarettes etc)
  • Added the ability to check and begin weekly quests from raid alarm station (but not hand them in)
  • Re-enabled dynamic gas zones since vanilla fixed them in 1.29 - gunpowder has a chance to spawn in there now too!
  • Due to the new mods and config changes, I expect bugs and balancing issues - please report them on our bug report page

25th September 2025:

  • Added my new ZenSkills mod which adds skill perks to the game MMORPG style
    • These perks are designed to NOT influence PVP in any significant way
    • This mod should be compatible with MapLink (let me know if there are sync issues)
    • More info can be found in-game by pressing the U key by default
    • EXP rate is set to 10x for testing purposes - please give feedback in the new bug tracker system
    • Will add more EXP-granting actions and balancing when 1.29 drops

Colours and patterns can play a big role in DayZ and potentially provide an upper hand in certain situations. Because of this fact, we unfortunately can not approve monetization of special donator personal camouflage patterns or colours that could help donating players to "blend" into surrounding areas. We can approve monetization of camouflage textures only under the condition that these clothes with custom textures are available to non-donating player as well. You can create for example a perk where players are able to design camouflage texture which will be available in shops and as a loot for everyone in the same way and without any limitations. Small clothes cosmetic customization such as logo, picture or a text are exceptions and can be customized just for the donating player or a group.

  • Added DayZ Dog mod. You can travel between maps with them
  • Added a black market trader to Tisy bunker on Chernarus
    • Requires completion of a quest from Altar FOB quest board to access
    • Vehicle trader at Altar FOB now requires a quest from Tisy to access

25th June 2025:

  • Removed packaging textures from CookZ to be a bit more immersive
  • Made cars buyable at traders on all maps (expensive!)
  • Added Ambient Animals mod back in
  • Added some boomlay craftable items back in
    • Craft a workbench using 10 planks on 99 nails
    • Available recipes are listed on the workbench

24th June 2025:

  • Added CookZ mod - find a cookbook in-game to see a list of recipes
  • Fixed sleeping bags not lasting under territory flag
  • Increased territory basebuilding object limit by +20 to 120
  • Made glasses repairable with electronic repair kit like scopes
  • Made all repair kits and bandages combinable (but not splittable)
  • Made fires last a lot longer with firewood
  • Reduced weight of nails to be realistic

21st June 2025:

  • Prevented ability to light fires in safe zones
  • Added custom castles back to Livonia
  • Doubled wearable GPS device battery life

15th June 2025:

  • Added expanded HQ building mod (adds new rooms to HQ building - also fixes Hans Yellow King quest)
  • Fixed a bunch of minor bugs & tweaked some loot economy stuff (eg. repair kits now spawn 30-100% full)
  • Fixed breaching charge not being placeable on RaG double-door gates
  • Combination lock owners can now unlock their locks on gates without remembering the code
  • Increased vanilla weapon durability by 2.5x
  • Am aware we are missing mods & content - I am adding things back in slowly as server performance is my utmost priority.

13th June 2025:

  • Made cars sellable at Sanctuary, but not buyable since they're easy to find right now
  • Made it possible to "place" sharp sticks around a fire to cook without needing your hands
  • Picking up very hot items without thick gloves will cause your player to drop it
  • Prevented digging garden plots and worms in safezones

12th June 2025:

  • Fixed not being able to climb into boats (they will not be locked at safezones though)

11th June 2025:

  • Added a bunch of new clothing items, mainly to zeds & airdrops & black market loot
  • Fixed caves not spawning in properly and a few other minor bugs
  • Tweaked day/night cycle so nights don't last as long

9th June 2025:

  • Removed damage impacting ability to sleep as it seems unintuitive and possibly bugged ("too buzzed")
  • For reals this time, fixed fireplaces and barrels and garden despawning at Safezones (was an Expansion config issue)
  • It was possible to raise your weapon after MapLink travel into a safe zone which would make the guards... displeased
  • Added back some of the smaller Livonia modded caves from the old server (not all of them - FOIG)

8th June 2025:

  • Fixed Winchester rifles despawning
  • Turned on persistent trees mod (cut trees take 24 hours to respawn)
  • Made nails tradeable on player-to-player marketplace
  • Removed 250 nailbox spawns as it's not compatible with current config
  • Added ability to craft vanilla wolf headdress from wolf heads
  • Added a weekly zombie hunting quest to Chernarus and Sakhal
  • Fixed bear hunting quest, now requires regular bear head trophy
  • Fixed some types.xml entries for items which should last longer before despawning (eg. animal heads)
  • Removed map transfer time cooldown due to some strange bugs with timer countdown I need to resolve

7th June 2025:

  • Ruined clothing will now drop to the ground
  • Fixed several minor bugs and tweaked loot config for custom gear
  • Fixed Sanctuary garden despawning (and fireplaces at safe zones too)

5th June 2025:

  • Fixed debug message spam when cooking on a stick
  • Fixed build-anywhere not working and a few unintended config issues
  • Changed combination lock colours based on how many pins they have
  • Added Expansion Groups & Book so that group quests can be done
  • Groups do not show any HUD info or markers or any of that crap
  • Moved daily breaching charge spawns (1 per server per day):
  • Chernarus: Contaminated Zones
  • Livonia: Contaminated Zones
  • Sakhal: Underground Bunker

4th June 2025:

  • Re-released server alongside 1.28 update.
  • New server is very vanilla-focused in terms of setup, loot config, zombies & animal spawns etc.
  • I have limited time to maintain everything so I've stripped the complexity right back.
  • We do still have quests and a basic market, all my custom mods, and we also run MapLink now to join the 3 vanilla maps.
  • Press B in-game to view the server guide and to send a message to admins if there's a bug or player to report.
  • We now run a strict no-compensation policy to keep with vanilla's spirit and to keep my own sanity in check. You die, you die. Get back to your gear or get comfortable starting fresh - it's the funnest part of the game anyway.
