Remove client-side variable substitution for file associations - #1179
angelozerr merged 1 commit into
Conversation
Variable resolution is now handled server-side in lemminx, which resolves variables per-document at match time instead of once globally from the active editor. This eliminates unnecessary settings re-sends on every editor tab switch. Removes: - variableSubstitution.ts - getVariableSubstitutedAssociations() call in settings.ts - onDidChangeActiveTextEditor listener that re-sent settings Requires lemminx with file association variable support. This PR forwards raw file associations to LemMinX. The supported Java and bundled-server paths use LemMinX 0.31.2, which stores association
systemIdvalues without resolving variables. Associations containing${fileDirname}or${workspaceFolder}can therefore remain literal and fail to match. A custom binary that includes the resolver is an exception.Restore the existing
getVariableSubstitutedAssociations(...)call and active-editor refresh listener. Remove them only when the pinned LemMinX release includes this support.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents
