One job filter, and tags as the indexed handle (ADR-049) - #572
Uses one JobFilter for job listing, counting, batch preview/execution, and DLQ operations (ADR-049). SQL narrows candidates before a batched current-row loader resolves state. Tags use partial GIN indexes maintained by PostgreSQL, with an operator command to build indexes on populated partitions.
The API accepts multiple tags/states and created-at/ID bounds. Destructive batch and DLQ operations require a narrowing filter or explicit allow_all. Richer filters use new DLQ endpoints and are refused while an older runtime cannot read them; the deprecated listing wrappers continue through the shared compiler. The upgrade guide describes index construction and mixed-version limits.
The updated branch merges current main, preserving committed DLQ cache invalidation, filtered metrics, and output retention. Two existing CI fixture races are corrected: runtime snapshot assertions use a private database; the prune lock-order test accounts for per-relation COMMIT lock release and still requires a successful fresh prune after the reader commits. Its NOWAIT lock-order proof, timing limits, and terminal-count assertion are unchanged.
Validation:
Required Rust format, Clippy across all targets/features, workspace build, and filter/query unit tests passed.
The separate Python Rust workspace passes format and Clippy.
PostgreSQL 17 and 18 each passed all 11 job-filter integration tests, the compatibility listing reference test, runtime snapshot assertions, and prune lock-order regression.
Frontend typecheck, build, and all 72 unit tests passed.
Both independent reviews found no blocker in the merge resolutions. Full CI is selected for the new head; browser and complete Python matrix results remain CI gates.
…plans
- Several tags or states travel as a list under ADR-030's tag and state
keys, which a 0.6 reader refuses rather than ignoring; DLQ bulk bodies
nest the filter under filter, which a 0.6 server treats as empty.
- A filter requires at most 20 tags. A DLQ purge or bulk retry needs a
field that narrows the DLQ; state=failed and dead_lettered=true don't.
- Python's keyset purge keeps the whole filter, and keyword arguments that
disagree with the filter dict are refused rather than replacing it.
- Counts read at most cap+1 candidates per branch.
- Every branch reaches the rows it joins through a lateral primary-key or
job_id probe, the available branch walks each lane from its cursor, and
closed claim batches are skipped before unnesting. A 20,000-job page
took over 20 seconds before; it now takes about 200 ms at 50,000.
- The batched loader skips tombstoned ready rows, reads in one
transaction with JIT off, and keeps each statement's generic plan.
- Tag-index builds retry busy or deadlocked targets, verify each index is
valid, drop abandoned REINDEX copies, never lock a large heap for the
plain build, use one connection, and tolerate a pre-0.7 database.
- The batch form and DLQ page refuse a date that doesn't parse, and a
batch preview clears when the form changes.
- Batch scans run without the interactive statement timeout; the fleet
gate uses the runtime's own liveness window.
One JobFilter describes which jobs for listing, counting, batch preview,
batch execution and the DLQ, compiled once per engine with only the
predicates a filter sets. Tags become the indexed handle for jobs about
something: a partial GIN index over non-empty payload tags on each
queue-storage partition, maintained by Postgres for every binary and
built online by the migrator. Amends ADR-030.
…e change
Migration and schema preparation index empty partitions on the spot,
extended batch filters wait for 0.7.0-alpha.2 runtimes, and
BatchOperationFilter's state and tag become the lists states and tags.
… plans
Several tags or states travel as a list under ADR-030's tag and state
keys, which a 0.6 reader refuses rather than ignoring, and the DLQ bulk
bodies nest the filter so a 0.6 server sees none and refuses. A filter
may require at most 20 tags. The status line names what migrate and
build-tag-index each index. DLQ bulk actions need a field that narrows
the DLQ. Branch joins are lateral probes, measured against the plans
that timed out at 20,000 jobs.
…gacy job-detail e2e
An empty tag index keeps its metapage and root, so the reclaimable-storage
probe read every empty ring child as populated and idle maintenance
truncated it on each pass. The job-detail test now waits for the queue
banner and match count, which load after the list and move its rows.

This release adds shared job filters, paginated listing and counting, DLQ and batch-operation support, and partial GIN indexes for job tags. Rust, Python, HTTP, CLI, and the admin UI expose these capabilities.
Changes: Shared filtering and indexed tag support
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Filter contracts and query engine awa-model/src/filter.rs, awa-model/src/job_query.rs, awa-model/src/lib.rs
Adds validated JobFilter, JobPage, DlqPage, and JobCount types. Queue-storage queries compile set predicates, prune state-ineligible branches, and recheck loaded rows against the filter.
Admin listing and counting, batch previews and scans, and DLQ listing and bulk actions use shared filters. Queue-storage loading fetches multiple current rows in one read. Filter-based operations require queue storage; DLQ bulk actions require a narrowing filter or allow_all.
Adds status reporting and empty-table, concurrent, and repair paths for partial GIN tag indexes. Migration and schema installation attempt empty-partition indexing. The CLI reports index status and provides storage build-tag-index.
CLI and HTTP integration awa-cli/src/main.rs, awa-ui/src/handlers/*, awa-ui/src/lib.rs, awa/src/lib.rs
The CLI and HTTP API accept shared filters and pagination. HTTP adds /api/jobs/count and matching DLQ retry and purge endpoints. The Rust facade exports the new model APIs.
Python adds shared filter parsing, find_jobs and count_jobs, and filtered DLQ methods for synchronous and asynchronous clients. Legacy list methods add tag and cursor support.
Admin UI filters and counts awa-ui/frontend/src/components/SearchBar.tsx, awa-ui/frontend/src/lib/api.ts, awa-ui/frontend/src/routes/*, awa-ui/frontend/e2e/*
The UI supports repeated tags, IDs, and creation-time bounds. Job search displays matching counts and passes eligible filters to batch operations. DLQ actions use expanded filters and block invalid search terms.
Adds filter and tag-index tests and a tag-filter benchmark. Documents filter behavior and upgrade compatibility, updates guide navigation and the changelog, and advances package versions to 0.7.0-alpha.2.

Explanation
The title "One job filter, and tags as the indexed handle (ADR-049)" matches the main change. The PR adds a shared JobFilter across Rust, Python, HTTP, CLI, and the admin UI, and adds partial GIN indexes on tags. The title names both the unified filter and the tag indexing, which are the two central parts of the changeset. The title is specific and does not use vague terms. The term "handle" is slightly unusual, but the title still conveys the primary change. No web search was needed for this check.

Two checks fail because ubuntu-latest now resolves to Ubuntu 26.04, not because of this PR. Main's last CI run (8bc3aa3, Oct 29) passed on the older image, so main will hit both on its next run.
Python 3.12 wheel shutdown:actions/setup-python stops before any build with "The version '3.12.3' with architecture 'x64' was not found for Ubuntu 26.04". The job pins that old interpreter deliberately for its shutdown regression.
Frontend E2E tests:npx playwright install chromium fails with "Playwright does not support chromium on ubuntu26.04-x64". Locally, with the Chromium build available here, the suite passes 94/94 on a fresh database.
No fix exists yet, and I haven't re-run either job: both setup steps fail the same way every time on this image.

The Validation section overstates what tag_filter_bench.rs checks.
The ADR says the benchmark checks three things:
A 100-row page loads in one batched read.
A rare-tag lookup takes under 100 ms.
p99 enqueue latency for tagged jobs stays within 10% of today.
The benchmark does not check the first or third item. It asserts rows == 1 for the rare tag and rare_median < RARE_TAG_TARGET, which is 250 ms. It prints timings for the other lookups. It reports WAL per job and index size. It does not count queries per page and does not measure enqueue latency.
Reword the bullet to list what the benchmark asserts and reports. Move the other two items to a separate "not yet measured" or "checked elsewhere" note. Also state that the enforced bound is 250 ms, with 100 ms as the aim.

GET /api/jobs now includes dead-lettered jobs, so each carries its DLQ
metadata, read for the whole page in one query, and the jobs page leaves
them out of its bulk retry and cancel, which act only on the job
endpoints. Job-detail e2e tests wait for the match count before clicking
a row, since it renders after the list.
…ry values
- The deprecated QueueStorage::bulk_retry_from_dlq retries in its own
schema rather than the active one.
- A concurrent empty-partition index build that loses the catalog race
(23505) leaves the target for a later pass.
- The created>= suggestion starts a term instead of applying an empty one.
- The batch form coerces router-parsed query values to strings.
- CHANGELOG states what checks the mixed-version claims, and
docs/stability.md records ADR-049's skew guarantees.
…s migrate runs
migrations::run follows the SQL with the empty-partition tag-index pass,
so the clean-install side of the re-run test had indexes the raw-SQL side
never built.
The canonical engine is deprecated (ADR-037) and in 0.7 holds work only on
a fresh install that hasn't started a worker, so find_jobs, count_jobs,
the deprecated list_jobs and batch-operation preview, submit and apply
return the error the DLQ APIs already return instead of keeping a second
compiler. canonical_statement and the canonical batch apply paths go.
Batch operations and filtered job lists refuse the canonical engine, so the
integration, admin API and Python tests that exercise them now use their own
queue-storage database. The canonical set-priority/move-queue test is dropped:
queue_storage_runtime_test covers the operation and job_filter_test covers the
refusal.

A freshly migrated database stays canonical until its first worker starts,
so `awa job list` and the admin jobs page errored on a new install. While
canonical holds no jobs, listing and counting now return nothing; once it
holds jobs they are refused as before, and batch submission is always

…earch terms
A tag filter read every unclaimed row above each lane's cursor and tested
its payload, so its cost grew with the backlog. The tagged available branch
now starts from ready_entries, where the tag index applies, and checks each
match against its lane's cursor. With 50,000 unclaimed jobs the candidate
query drops from about 78 ms to 20 ms; tag_filter_bench now times a rare tag
in an unclaimed backlog too.
The search bar no longer drops an id: or created bound it can't read, which
left a wider filter than the one typed: the term stays in the input with an
error. A created bound in the URL that doesn't parse stops the jobs and DLQ
lists, and the batch link isn't offered for a tag containing a comma, which
the batch form would split.

Assistant-generated adversarial review (Codex), anchored to 512f477785d327ac092b94c6a399db4a8b5c4555. Current PR head/state were rechecked before posting. This is a COMMENT review; no approval or request-changes state.
The structured filter and PostgreSQL-maintained tag index are useful. Two remaining filter-boundary problems need attention:
1. URL ID terms bypass the typed-entry validation and can widen a destructive filter.
parseSearch drops invalid IDs. termError protects interactive entry, but URL-backed jobs and DLQ pages check unparseable dates, not malformed ID terms.
Executed against the actual extracted TypeScript functions:
Opening /dlq?q=queue%3Aq%20id%3Aabc therefore leaves queue-wide retry/purge matching enabled; the backend's queue scope guard accepts that wider filter. This is the URL-ingress gap after the earlier typed-token fix, not a claim that the fix is absent.
Also, typed id:9007199254740993 passes the validator and becomes 9007199254740992 through Number; the batch form also converts IDs to numbers. That is a latent wrong-ID risk within the supported bigint range.
Parse URLs and input through one error-returning normalizer, retain malformed terms visibly, and block dependent list/count/preview/mutation requests. Preserve decimal ID strings end to end, or reject unsafe integers explicitly. Needed tests: URL-initialized malformed IDs, incomplete terms and safe-integer boundaries through the real page/action flow.
2. The nested DLQ envelope is not fail-closed on an old server when a filtered request also sets all:true.
On released v0.6.9 (2dba0c3e4de88bb33ba08a6da84d6d5b113b248f), the flat request type ignores filter and retains all:true; the retry/purge scope checks then permit the whole DLQ. The new server applies the supplied narrowing filter, so the same body has a different destructive population across versions. Mixing flat and nested fields has a similar downgrade boundary.
The normal new UI helper sends no all and retains the intended empty-filter refusal on old servers. The broader HTTP compatibility claim still needs qualification or a versioned endpoint/capability boundary that old servers cannot interpret. Rejecting an unsafe combination only in the new server does not fence requests routed to an old one. Needed test: send these exact bodies to a released old HTTP server and the new one; assert refusal rather than widening.
Inherited reliability work, tracked separately
#577: pruning retains unique ownership after its job evidence is removed; default unique follow-ups can be suppressed by an orphan owner. Already present on main, not caused by this PR.
#578: scan restart recomputes capture boundaries and totals while old item pages survive; durable checkpoint/accounting gap predates this PR.
#303 evidence: the full administrative scan still occupies the rescue/promotion select loop without an Awa deadline. No fleet incident or measured recovery delay is claimed.
#569 loader extension: compiler and loader use different ready-row identity rules around aging. The extracted joins produce a counterexample, but the aged-claim/materialization/admin-read lifecycle remains suspected pending native reproduction, not confirmed runtime corruption.
Strategically, keep the small filter and GIN index, but share one source-aware identity/resolution contract across list/count/capture, persist resumable command boundaries, and isolate recovery capacity from administrative work. A shared predicate type alone does not establish the same logical population. Advisory read omissions must not be described as lost executable jobs.
Evidence limits: source tracing and extracted TypeScript checks here; no native PG17/18 lifecycle, old-server HTTP or browser-to-database test was run in this session. The passing existing CI is useful but does not cover these counterexamples. No code changes or release/merge action were made.
…its own endpoints
Search terms from the URL skipped the check typed terms get, so
/dlq?q=queue:q%20id:abc dropped the id and enabled queue-wide retry and
purge. One validator now covers typed and URL terms: an id that isn't a
whole job id within the safe-integer range, an unreadable date, an empty
value or an unknown term stops the jobs and DLQ lists and their bulk actions,
and shows as a removable chip. The batch form also rejects ids beyond the
safe-integer range.
A 0.6 server ignores body fields it doesn't know, so a nested filter on
/api/dlq/bulk-retry and /bulk-purge would be ignored there, and beside
all: true would act on the whole DLQ. The full filter now goes to
/api/dlq/retry-matching and /purge-matching, which v0.6.9 answers with 405;
the old paths take only their 0.6 body, and all is accepted only with an
empty filter.
Both findings from the review on 512f477 are fixed in ac1e394.
1. URL search terms and unsafe ids.invalidTerms/termError in SearchBar.tsx is now the one validator for typed and URL-borne search terms. It flags:
an id: value that isn't a whole job id within Number.MAX_SAFE_INTEGER;
an unreadable created>=/created< date;
an empty value, such as a bare kind:;
an unknown term.
While any of these is present:
the jobs page stops its list, its match count and the batch link;
the DLQ page stops its list, and Retry/Purge matching stay disabled;
the term shows as a red, removable chip and stays in the URL, so editing other terms doesn't drop it.
parseSearch and the batch form use the same isJobId check, so 9007199254740993 is refused rather than rounded.
Tests:
vitest covers id:abc, empty and unknown terms, and the safe-integer boundary.
New Playwright tests open /jobs?q=queue:e2e_test id:abc and /dlq?q=queue:e2e_dlq id:abc. They assert that no list request is sent from the jobs page, that no DLQ POST happens and the bulk buttons stay disabled, and that removing the chip restores the list.
A batch-form test checks that 9007199254740993 blocks preview and submit.
2. The DLQ envelope on 0.6 servers. Agreed that a fence inside the new server doesn't protect an old one. The full filter now has its own endpoints, POST /api/dlq/retry-matching and /purge-matching, with body {"filter": {...}}.
all: true is accepted there only with an empty filter.
/api/dlq/bulk-retry and /bulk-purge take only their 0.6 body (kind, queue, one tag, all) and refuse anything else.
The UI uses the new paths.
I checked the old server by hand, not in CI. A real v0.6.9 server (2dba0c3) answers all four of {"filter":{"tag":["a","b"]}} and {"filter":{},"all":true} on /api/dlq/retry-matching and /purge-matching with 405. There, /dlq/{id} takes only GET and DELETE, so no DLQ handler runs.
On the new server, test_dlq_bulk_bodies_never_mean_more_on_an_older_server (awa-ui/tests/admin_api_test.rs) sends your body {"filter":{"tag":"purge"},"all":true} to /bulk-purge, a mixed flat-and-nested body to /bulk-retry, filter plus all to /purge-matching, and a flat body to /retry-matching. It asserts each is refused with the DLQ unchanged, then that a narrowed matching purge and a flat 0.6 retry each act on one row.
CHANGELOG, the upgrade guide, finding-jobs.md, stability.md, ui-design.md and ADR-049 (marked as amended after review) now describe the endpoint split. stability.md says the 0.6.9 check was manual.
Inherited items.#577, #578, the #303 scan deadline and the #569 aging identity question stay out of this PR, as you noted.
Validation:
cargo fmt and clippy -D warnings are clean.
All awa-ui suites pass.
tsc passes and vitest passes 53/53.
Playwright passes 97/97 against a freshly built UI.

Require allow_all for dead_lettered(false) alone.
If a batch request sets only dead_lettered(false) and leaves allow_all false, this validation accepts it. JobFilter::is_empty also treats it as a filter, so submission passes the allow_all guard. The value excludes no available or scheduled jobs; a priority change or queue move can therefore target the full eligible population without explicit approval. Treat this value as non-narrowing for batch submission, or reject it when no other field narrows the batch. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Update the batch submission validation around `filter.dead_lettered` so
`dead_lettered(false)` alone does not bypass the `allow_all` requirement; allow
it without `allow_all` only when another filter field narrows the batch.
The request filter also hides /api/jobs/count calls, so the test cannot detect a count request for a malformed search.
The filter !url.includes("/api/jobs/") is meant to skip job detail requests such as /api/jobs/123. It also skips /api/jobs/count. The count query is one of the requests this test must keep off while the search is invalid. If the enabled: hasFilter && !searchError guard on countQuery regresses, this assertion still passes.

Every job a batch operation can reach is not dead-lettered, so a filter of
only dead_lettered: false selected the whole eligible population without
allow_all. It no longer counts as narrowing a batch. The malformed-URL
Playwright test also counts /api/jobs/count requests now, skipping only job
detail requests.
On CodeRabbit's review of ac1e394, both points are fixed in c09b23e:
batch_operations.rs: dead_lettered(false) alone stood in for a batch filter. It did. Every job a batch operation can reach is not dead-lettered, so a filter of only that value took the whole eligible population without allow_all. The submit guard now checks the filter with dead_lettered cleared. job_filter_test::a_batch_needs_a_field_that_narrows_it checks that dead_lettered(false) alone is refused and that queue + dead_lettered(false) is accepted.
jobs.spec.ts nit: the request filter also hid /api/jobs/count. It now skips only job-detail URLs (/api/jobs/<id>), so a count request sent for a malformed search would fail the test.
…GET filter parameters
find_jobs could make up to 32 candidate passes, each with its own 30-second
statement timeout, and the row loader had none, so one listing could run for
many minutes. Listing and counting now share one 30-second budget per call:
each candidate query and row load runs with the time that is left as its
statement timeout, a backstop just past the deadline bounds pool waits, and
running out fails with an error asking for a narrower filter. Batch scans
still run without a budget.
GET /api/jobs, /api/jobs/count and /api/dlq ignored unknown parameters and
empty values, so a typo returned a wider list than asked for, unlike the
JSON filter. Both are now a 400.

Hide cached jobs when the search is invalid.
When searchError exists, jobsQuery.data can still contain cached unfiltered jobs because disabling the query does not clear cached data. The current jobs value therefore renders stale rows beside the invalid-search alert. Guard the displayed data locally.

…claim
A malformed term is left out of the query key, so the jobs and DLQ pages could
show the wider search's cached rows next to the error after an in-app
navigation. They now show none while the search is invalid; a Playwright test
reproduces the stale rows without the fix.
A 0.6 server ignored unknown query parameters but not every empty one, and had
no count endpoint; the CHANGELOG and docs now say only that.
Mark ADR-050 and its supporting contract accepted. The contract's source
evidence now cites #572 at 15b8e3f, which gives each interactive listing one
30-second budget and refuses unknown or empty GET parameters; the contract notes
that its adapters tighten that budget to 15 s/5 s. The ADR index also shows
ADR-049 as accepted, matching its status.
Deadline expiry gets 503 with Retry-After and a read_deadline_exceeded code, so
clients retry under backoff rather than treating it as an invalid filter. #572's
current 400 mapping is not inherited by the adapters.
- Tag de-duplication is linear, and the query-string parser stops at the
tag and id caps, so an oversized request costs no more than the limit.
- A batch operation needs a kind, queue, tag, ids or created bound (or
allow_all), as a DLQ purge does: a state alone still names every job in
it. An empty ids list is refused in any filter.
- The admin UI offers the batch link only for a narrowing search, requires a
preview of the form's current filter, and confirms with the scope and
count.
- Concurrent tag-index builds run on their own connection with no lock or
statement timeout, so a long transaction delays a build instead of
aborting it into an invalid index; failed-rebuild _ccold copies are
dropped too.
- The DLQ page shows the server's error and disables bulk actions while its
list is failing or loading; 4xx responses are not retried; the jobs page
shows the server's message.
- `awa storage status` prints one JSON document with tag_indexes; the hint
goes to stderr.
- The job loader reads from one REPEATABLE READ snapshot, so a job moving
between tables mid-read is not missed.
- Methods that read every JobFilter field destructure it exhaustively,
including the DLQ DELETE predicate, and the tag predicate is shared with
the index definition.
- A stored batch operation the runner can't read, or whose filter no longer
suits its operation, is marked failed instead of blocking the runner.
- The DLQ listing gets the interactive read budget.
Rust tests (pg18, rest) failed on 976406f in cron_test::test_resume_re_enables_enqueue ("atomic_enqueue should succeed after resume"). This PR doesn't touch cron code or that test, which is the same on main.
Cause. Tests in cron_test share one database, and test_end_to_end_periodic_job_enqueued runs a maintenance leader in the same binary. That leader fires every unpaused cron row it finds. A new * * * * * row is due on its first tick, because compute_fire_times starts its search a minute before created_at when last_enqueued_at is NULL. If a leader tick falls between the test's resume_cron_job and its own atomic_enqueue(.., None), the leader claims the fire first. last_enqueued_at is then set, and the test's call returns None. Other tests that upsert a * * * * * row and then call atomic_enqueue with None have the same window: test_atomic_cte_mark_and_insert, test_atomic_cte_dedup_second_call, test_cron_job_with_tags_and_metadata and test_pause_preserves_last_enqueued_at.
Proposed fix (not in this PR). Those tests call atomic_enqueue themselves, so their schedules don't need to be due. Give them one that no leader will fire during the run, for example "0 0 1 1 *", and leave the * * * * * schedule only in the end-to-end test, which needs the leader to fire it.
I couldn't re-run the failed job: the integration gets a 403 on rerun-failed-jobs. Re-running it should go green.

Continue listing until candidate exhaustion or the read budget expires.

Continue listing until candidate exhaustion or the read budget expires.
A valid filter can produce 32 full candidate batches whose rows move out of the filter before load verifies them. If matching current rows remain after those candidates, find_within returns a short page after the fixed loop. find_jobs exposes that short result without an exhaustion signal, so the caller can miss matching jobs.
The existing ReadBudget already bounds the scan and reports a validation error when the read exceeds 30 seconds.
Suggested fix

The jobs and DLQ pages skip the query while the search has a malformed
term, so 'No jobs found.' and 'DLQ is empty' beside the search error
described a list that was never read.
A fixed 32-round limit returned a short page when enough candidates had
moved on, which a caller paging until a short page would take for the
end. The cursor advances each round and the read budget bounds the time,
so the limit only hid matches.
Rust tests (pg18, rest) failed on 2f23103 in staged_follow_up_test::failed_or_late_staging_never_commits_under_queue_storage (only the trigger itself: 0 jobs of kind Late counted, expected 1). This PR doesn't change that test or the retention behaviour behind it; both are the same on main.
Cause. The test counts its completed Late job in awa.jobs after waiting about 0.5 s. Its client uses the default queue-storage rotation of 1 s, and maintenance prunes a slot's completed rows soon after the slot rotates out. I reproduced it locally by polling the count every 100 ms after completion. The job was visible for about 1.5 s, then the count dropped to 0 for good:
(0, 1) (1, 1) … (14, 1) (16, 0) (17, 0) … (59, 0) // (tenths of a second, count)
Under CI load the test's wait stretches past that window. It passed 8 of 8 runs in isolation here. job_output_test had the same race and was fixed earlier with a long rotation.
Proposed fix (not in this PR). In staged_follow_up_test.rs, have client_builder give queue-storage clients a long rotation, so completed rows outlive each test. For example: builder.queue_storage(QueueStorageConfig::default(), Duration::from_secs(3600), Duration::from_secs(3600)) for the non-canonical branch. Other tests in that file also count completed jobs, so the fix belongs in the shared builder.
I can't re-run the job from here (403). The next push to this branch re-runs it.
Two test races failed on the merge commit 56462a4. Neither is in this PR's code.
1. Rust tests (pg17, rest): test_admin_runtime_observability_snapshot (integration_test.rs:1914, unwrap() on None)
The test first waits until runtime_overview shows its instance serving integ_runtime_observability. A moment later, queue_runtime_summary re-reads awa.runtime_instances and the queue is gone.
CI runs test binaries in parallel against one database (nextest). Several of them clear the table with no scope: observability_test.rs:63, telemetry_test.rs:203, benchmark_test.rs:83, executor_guard_test.rs:50 and migration_test.rs:3036 all run DELETE FROM awa.runtime_instances. When one of those lands between the two reads, it removes the live instance's snapshot.
Neither queue_runtime_summary nor this test changes in this PR.
Proposed patch: read the summary the same way the test already waits for the snapshot. The runtime re-publishes its row on every snapshot flush, so a deleted row comes back within the interval.
The Postgres log shows prune's NOWAIT lock failing on awa_qs_prune_claim_lock_order.ready_claim_attempt_batches_0. That is the relation the test's reader had just locked.
When the reader commits, Postgres releases its locks one at a time and wakes waiters as it goes. Prune can therefore be granted ready_segments_0 before the reader's lock on ready_claim_attempt_batches_0 is gone. It then backs off with Blocked, which is prune's designed outcome on contention.

JobFilterfor job listing, counting, batch preview/execution, and DLQ operations (ADR-049). SQL narrows candidates before a batched current-row loader resolves state. Tags use partial GIN indexes maintained by PostgreSQL, with an operator command to build indexes on populated partitions. The API accepts multiple tags/states and created-at/ID bounds. Destructive batch and DLQ operations require a narrowing filter or explicit
allow_all.
