What Changed

MET-550 makes partial usage results visible and applies explicit analytical read budgets.

How It Works

Retains existing response fields and adds completeness metadata. Grouped reads retain a deterministic top 500 with a 501st-group probe; timeseries compresses remaining keys into exact cost totals and identifies the other-series position. Reads have a 91-day window, two-second pool checkout, five-second statement timeout and 1 MiB compact JSON ceiling. Structured errors explain oversized results and retryable cancellation. Matching dashboard builds show partial-result warnings.

Stack parent: #91, branch sam/met-536-call-pagination, commit 5a03c4b. The shared application has a separate dependent draft; typed schemas and packaged consumer gates follow in MET-543/MET-545. See docs/operations/usage-read-contract.md for rollout, recovery and rollback.

QA Overview

873 backend/core tests passed (one dependency warning); seven dashboard tests and production build passed. Final independent Claude review found no actionable findings. Real PostgreSQL/HTTP checks covered 505 groups, filtered completeness, exact compressed totals, UTC offsets, real other-key collision, authentication, oversized catalogs/UTF-8 response bytes and a five-second database lock timeout with recovery. Built dashboard displayed the partial warning with synthetic rows.

The internal producer's paired operational performance gate passed; this is not an OSS throughput claim. OSS has no operational metrics exporter. Provider execution, hosted fleet and installed rolling bundles were not exercised. Draft only, no merge or deployment.
