VidAudio turns MP4, MOV, and M4V videos into MP3, M4A, WAV, or AIFF audio. Drop in one or more files, choose an output format and folder, then let the queue run. All media processing stays on your Mac.

Get the latest universal build for Apple silicon and Intel Macs from GitHub Releases.

Download the ZIP, extract it, and move VidAudio.app to Applications. The current public build is ad-hoc signed. Because it is not Apple-notarized, macOS may show a Gatekeeper warning on first launch.

Build from source

Requirements: macOS 14 or later and a current Xcode version.

Create a universal release package:

./Scripts/package-release.sh

The script places VidAudio.app and VidAudio-1.0.0-macOS-universal.zip in dist/. Build caches and release artifacts are intentionally excluded from Git; the ZIP is distributed through GitHub Releases.

Privacy

VidAudio works entirely offline. It does not upload your media, require an account, collect analytics, or make network requests. App Sandbox limits file access to videos and folders you explicitly select.

Formats and implementation

Input support includes MP4, MOV, and M4V, subject to codecs supported by macOS AVFoundation. M4A, WAV, and AIFF use Apple media frameworks. MP3 encoding uses the vendored LAME 3.100 Swift package, whose LGPL-3.0 license is retained with the source and included in the app bundle.

Current scope

• Full-track extraction only; trimming and advanced encoding controls are not included.
• A damaged file or unsupported codec is reported as failed without stopping the remaining queue.

请前往 GitHub Releases 下载同时支持 Apple 芯片与 Intel Mac 的最新版本。

下载 ZIP 并解压，然后将 VidAudio.app 移入“应用程序”文件夹。当前公开版本使用 ad-hoc 签名；由于尚未经过 Apple 公证，macOS 首次启动时可能显示 Gatekeeper 提示。

从源码构建

隐私

VidAudio 完全离线运行，不上传媒体、不要求账号、不收集分析数据，也不会发起网络请求。App Sandbox 将文件访问限制在你明确选择的视频和目录内。

格式与实现

输入支持 MP4、MOV、M4V，实际编解码能力取决于 macOS AVFoundation。M4A、WAV、AIFF 使用 Apple 媒体框架；MP3 使用项目内置的 LAME 3.100 Swift Package，其 LGPL-3.0 许可证随源码保留并包含在应用包中。

当前范围

• 仅支持完整音轨提取，暂不包含裁剪与高级编码参数。
• 损坏文件或系统不支持的编解码格式会被标记为失败，不影响队列中的其他文件。
