Note
This repo is a mirror of the forkable-starter template in
withoneai/forkable.
It exists so Replit, Bolt and gh repo create --template can start from
a whole repo. It is rewritten on every sync, so send changes to the
source repo, not here.
The preferred way to start is the Forkable CLI. It names your fork, fills
in local/profile.md with who it is for and where, and starts a fresh git
history:
npm create forkable@latest my-business -- --template forkable-starter
Starting from this repo instead (Use this template, or a builder import):
npm install
npm start
Then fill in {{FOR}} and {{IN}} in local/profile.md and rename the
project in package.json and forkable.json.
- Replit: the
.replithere installs, runs the demo, then starts the server on port 51890 (mapped to 80). Open/api/helloin the webview. - Bolt: plain Node with a root
package.json, so it opens as is. Runnpm startin its terminal for the demo, npm run devfor the server. - Lovable builds from a prompt, not a repo import. Point the prompt at this repo.
Fork a business. The team comes with it.
This is the base every Forkable business starts from: One Connect wired up, a keyless Acme Inc demo that exits 0, one runtime agent to build on, and a go-to-market kit.
npm create forkable@latest my-business -- --for "real estate agents" --in "Los Angeles"
cd my-business
npm install
npm start
npm start runs with no account and no keys: it reads the Acme Inc sample
inbox and shows the one action this starter deliberately does not ask
for, declined (Gmail · delete-message declined, 403). That receipt is
the proof: every call this fork makes runs on a user's own Connect grant,
never a shared credential.

Once this is a real business: sign in to the One dashboard, make a
Connect app (Developers -> Connect -> New app), and set ONE_CLIENT_ID,
ONE_CLIENT_SECRET, ONE_CONNECT_KEY, and ONE_REDIRECT_URI. Then
npm run dev starts the server with Sign in with One live instead of the
fixture.
See AGENTS.md for the rules this repo runs on, and .claude/skills/ for
how to extend it.
