Summary

Clarify on the API Pricing page that the Venice API is pay-as-you-go and that the venice.ai consumer app's free/Pro tiers do not apply to API usage.

Changes

  • Added a "How API billing works" section to overview/pricing.mdx explaining that the API is metered per request against an API credit balance, with no free tier, monthly quota, or login-based subscription plan.
  • Called out explicitly that the consumer app's free/Pro tiers and "base vs. Pro model" split do not carry over to the API — every model on the page is available to any API key with a balance.
  • Reworded the "Pro Users" section to make clear the $10 credit is a one-time bonus, not an ongoing quota.

Context

Multiple recent assistant conversations showed confusion about whether the API has a free tier, whether "base" vs. "Pro" model access exists on the API, and whether login/subscription-based access (à la Claude Code Max) is available. Themes are summarized without copying user text.
