Requirements

• 6767 port needs to be open in the local network

• Windows 10 (1909/2019 nov or newer)
• Windows 11 (All)

Note

System tray and console control only exist in windows

Linux

Tip

iwgetid is used. this requires wireless-tools

Ubuntu

• Ubuntu 20.04 LTS+

Debian

• Debian 11+

Arch Linux

• Fedora 335+

MacOS

• MacOS 11 (Big sur) or later

Opening on another device

• Make sure the devices are connected to the same wifi
• Turn off any VPN
• Start the server on the desktop
• HostTalk will open a site on your default browser on the desktop
• Right click on the the site and click invite
• Go to the address shown in the invite popup in any device connected to the same network
• If other devices say 'page not found' see Troubleshooting

troubleshooting

• Do not use localhost or 127.0.0.1 to connect to other devices other than your desktop
• Turn off any VPN
• Firewalls may block the connection. allow the app
