npm's OIDC trusted publishing needs npm 11.5.1 or newer; Node 22 bundles npm 10, which performs no OIDC exchange, so the publish goes out unauthenticated and the registry answers 404 on PUT. The release workflow now installs a new enough npm and prints its version.
