Non-release builds currently keep full Docker archives and other build artifacts for 30 days, accumulating large amounts of storage between rehearsals. Expire these artifacts after five days across all six builder workflows, including CI package archives and manually dispatched candidates. Published releases and retries of their original runs retain the existing 30-day recovery window.

The release contract accepts the explicit event-based retention policy and rejects unrecognized expressions or policies that shorten release recovery. The release guide explains that a rehearsal must be started afresh after its artifacts expire. This affects new uploads; existing artifacts retain their original expiry dates.

Validation: 184 release contract, candidate, guard, and artifact tests passed; the release contract checker, actionlint, scoped Ruff lint/format checks, and git diff checks passed.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Release guidance clarifies that artifacts from non-release builds—including package archives, Docker images, and verification evidence—are retained for five days. Artifacts from published releases and retries of release runs are retained for 30 days.
  • Chores
    • Artifact retention across audio, Docker, Helm, native, npm, and Python release workflows now follows this five-day and 30-day schedule. Release checks also verify that artifact retention settings meet the required release policy.

📝 Walkthrough

Release workflows retain artifacts for 30 days on release events and 5 days otherwise. The release contract checker validates retention declarations, and RELEASE.md documents retention periods and retry behavior.
