Follows #368. #177 is closed: what is left of it scored accept under the triage rule (.claude/skills/triage/SKILL.md), and an accepted backlog item is closed on its issue with its scores.

What is left, both S4 O3 D1 = 12, under the bar of 20; both are red and named by status from the third hour:

  • a storage that answers a byte at a time is never given up on;
  • the drill's check, blackholed mid-read, takes a quarter of an hour for each five packs left in its group [M94].

Docs only. Four places called these "#177's" or "left with #177", and now say they are accepted:

  • two rows in backups/README.md's "Accepted residuals";
  • the hang paragraph in docs/backups.md;
  • the 2026-10-29 revision in docs/design/backups/plan.md, and the RC summary in docs/design/backups/README.md.

The watchdog and the dead man's switch that #177 lists are features, not fixes owed. The dated 2026-10-23 revision ("Those stay #177's") is history and is left as written.

…ted, not owed

smallhoursorg#368 bounded a storage that never answers. What is left, a storage that
answers a byte at a time and the drill's check blackholed mid-read,
scored 12 under the triage rule, so it is accepted and smallhoursorg#177 is closed
with its scores. The rows and the guide that called it smallhoursorg#177's question
still now say so; the watchdog and the dead man's switch are features.
