feat(terminal): add per-tab auto-fold toggle to block menu - #229
Conversation
The fold store already exposed a shouldAutoFold hook; wire a per-tab $state into it so users can temporarily suspend auto-folding from the command-block right-click menu ("临时关闭自动折叠").
Only affects future output — existing folds stay untouched and manual unfold still works (the two are orthogonal). Per-tab isolation comes for free from the keyed TerminalPane instance; the toggle survives tab switches and reconnects, resetting only when the tab closes.

Pull request overview
Adds a per-tab, temporary “auto-fold disabled” toggle to the command-block context menu in TerminalPane, wiring it into the existing fold store’s shouldAutoFold hook so automatic folding can be turned off/on without affecting existing folds.
Changes:
- Introduce a component-local per-tab
$stateflag (autoFoldDisabled) and gate fold-store auto-folding on it. - Add a new context-menu item to toggle auto-fold for the current terminal tab.
- Add i18n strings (en + zh) for the new menu item’s two states.

CodeRabbit review on #229: routing autoFoldDisabled through shouldAutoFold also gated enforceAutoFold, so disabling auto-fold skipped the reflow re-application and a resize afterwards lost all existing folds. Split the two concerns in FoldStoreOptions: shouldAutoFold gates everything (bar on/off); shouldFoldNewOutput gates only incremental folding of new output. enforceAutoFold (resize/reflow restoration) ignores shouldFoldNewOutput, so existing folds survive a resize while the per-tab toggle suspends future folding. Also align the enable/disable menu labels (both note per-tab scope) and add regression tests for both paths.

- The inline comment says the toggle affects
shouldAutoFold, but the implementation wires the per-tab toggle intoshouldFoldNewOutput. This comment is misleading and should reference the correct option/behavior (new output only).
// Per-tab: when true the fold store stops auto-folding new output (see
// shouldAutoFold below). Existing folds stay untouched; flip back to fold
// future output again. Survives reconnect and tab switches; resets only
// when the tab closes (this keyed component instance is destroyed).
src/lib/i18n/locales/en.ts:234
- The menu labels say “Disable/Enable auto-fold”, but the new option only suspends folding of new output (enforceAutoFold on resize/reflow can still re-fold). Consider clarifying the user-facing strings to avoid implying a full disable.
"terminal.block.menu.disable_auto_fold": "Disable auto-fold (this tab)",
"terminal.block.menu.enable_auto_fold": "Enable auto-fold (this tab)",
src/lib/i18n/locales/zh.ts:236
- Same as en: current wording reads like a full “disable auto-fold”, but the new toggle only affects new output. Consider clarifying the strings so users understand resize/reflow can still restore/reapply folds.
"terminal.block.menu.disable_auto_fold": "临时关闭自动折叠(当前标签)",
"terminal.block.menu.enable_auto_fold": "开启自动折叠(当前标签)",
src/lib/terminal/folds.ts:86
- The docstring says this “suspends folding of future output”, but since
enforceAutoFoldis intentionally unaffected, a resize/reflow can still fold an overflowing block even while this returns false. Consider making that consequence explicit in the doc comment to match runtime behavior and avoid confusion for callers.
/** Suspend folding of *new* output only. enforceAutoFold (the resize/reflow
* re-application) is unaffected, so existing folds survive a resize while a
* per-tab "disable auto-fold" toggle suspends folding of future output. */
shouldFoldNewOutput?: () => boolean;
What
Adds a "Disable auto-fold" toggle to the command-block right-click menu (临时关闭自动折叠). Per-tab, temporary, re-enablable.
Why
Auto-fold keeps long output tidy, but sometimes you want to watch output flow without the oldest rows being folded away. The fold store already exposed a
shouldAutoFoldhook, so this is a near-zero-cost per-tab switch.How
TerminalPane.svelte: component-local$state(false)autoFoldDisabled, wired intoshouldAutoFold: () => app.commandBlockBar() && !autoFoldDisabled. New toggle item appended to the block context menu.Behavior
