feat: support huggingface-hub 2.x - #744
rtmalikian wants to merge 2 commits into
Conversation
Allow huggingface-hub>=2.0 (2.0.0 released): hub 2.x moved from httpx to httpx2, which fastembed's _hf_transport_errors() shim already handles via huggingface_hub.utils.httpx. All other used hub APIs (snapshot_download, model_info, list_repo_tree, repo_folder_name, RepoFile, utils helpers, constants) verified unchanged in 2.0.0. Support huggingface-hub 2.x (Fixes #742). Hub 2.0 moved from httpx to httpx2; fastembed's
_hf_transport_errors()shim already imports the HTTP layer viahuggingface_hub.utils.httpx(available since hub 1.30), so no production-code changes were needed. Every hub API fastembed uses (snapshot_download,model_info,list_repo_tree,repo_folder_name,RepoFile,utilshelpers,constants) was verified present and signature-compatible in 2.0.0 with live smoke tests.Note:
tokenizers(a fastembed dependency) still pinshuggingface-hub<2.0in its latest release, so end users will only resolve hub 2.0 once tokenizers ships a compatible release — outside this repo's control.Changes Made
