When UNLOAD=true, when a ping is tried against Athena, it fails due to the column name requirement. I ran into this issue while using superset and when I tried to change the db settings a ping was run and failed in Athena with MISSING_COLUMN_NAME
Reproduction
Try and run a ping against Athena while the UNLOAD=true is enabled for the connection
Thanks again for the report and the fix! It is released in PyAthena 3.40.0 on the 3.x line (backported in #1198), together with #1200, which keeps SQLAlchemy's own handling of a failed ping on SQLAlchemy versions before 2.0.5.
On master, the fix will be in the next 4.x release.
If you are still on PyAthena 2.x, as in this report, upgrading to 3.40.0 or later picks it up.
