This PR contains:

SOMETHING ELSE: a dependency update (TypeScript 5.9.3 to 7.0.2) plus the config changes it needs. Supersedes #435, which is stale and red.

Describe the problem you have without this PR

TypeScript 7 does not build this repo as it is configured today:

  • tsconfig.json: TS 7 removed moduleResolution: "node" (node10), so this PR switches it to "bundler".
  • config/tsconfig.types.json: TS 7 now requires rootDir to be set explicitly, so this PR sets it to "../src". The output layout in dist/types stays the same.
  • test:unit: TS 7 is the native (Go) compiler and ships no JS compiler API, so ts-node crashes (Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'fileExists')). This PR replaces ts-node with tsx@4.23.15, the same tool the main rxdb repo uses, and runs mocha with --import=tsx. The usage comment in test/unit/perf-rest-set.ts is updated to match.

Verified locally after scripts/build-rxdb.sh:

  • npm run build passes
  • npm run check-types passes with 0 errors
  • npm run test:unit: 62 passing

Todos

  • Tests (existing suite passes)

Generated by Claude Code

- tsconfig: moduleResolution "node" (node10) was removed in TS 7, use "bundler"
- tsconfig.types: set rootDir explicitly, required by TS 7
- replace ts-node with tsx for test:unit, ts-node needs the JS compiler API
which TypeScript 7 (native) no longer ships

Supersedes #435
