## Semantic diffs

Run `cellar diff OLD NEW --semantic` to compare local bindings without treating a rename as a program change. Free names, literals, declaration kinds, async/generator flags and optional access remain significant. Parse diagnostics produce an `unknown` verdict. Semantic classification covers the primary definition and stored variants even when the textual diff exceeds `maxDiffBytes`.

Text, JSON and Markdown reports include the verdict and localized function names. Changed enclosing functions are collapsed when an inner edit explains them; whole function additions and removals retain their outer name. Counts describe this localized report. `--include-noise-only` also shows modules classified as rename-only.

Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win

Correct the flag name: the CLI flag is --include-noise, not --include-noise-only.

DiffArgs in crates/cellar/src/main.rs declares include_noise: bool with #[arg(long)], so clap exposes --include-noise. If a user follows the README, clap rejects --include-noise-only as an unknown argument.

Based on learnings, CLI flags in documentation must match the flags the project actually defines.

Review comment at @README.md at line 143:
Update the README report description to use the CLI flag --include-noise,
matching the include_noise argument exposed by clap; leave the surrounding
description unchanged.

P1 Badge Compare every changed module variant semantically

When a module's primary definition is unchanged but a variant is added, removed, or edited, ModuleEntry::fingerprint() correctly marks the module modified, but these texts are loaded only from the primary files. This comparison therefore returns Same and produces no function changes even though a shipped variant's program changed; variants are documented as common and as rollout signals. Semantic classification needs to cover the complete primary-plus-variants definition set used by the fingerprint.

P2 Badge Exclude narrowed ancestor functions from the changed count

When one nested function changes, its enclosing functions and Metro factory also get new hashes, so they reduce kept before narrow removes those ancestor entries from the reported change lists. Copying the original kept and total here makes the text renderer claim that multiple functions changed even though only one localized function remains; recompute the displayed count after narrowing or expose this as structural overlap rather than a changed-function count.

Useful? React with 👍 / 👎.
