Under Clause 44 of the Thameside Cabstand Protocol, the umbrella exemption applies only to stations whose *second* offering to the river has already been made, and Embankment has answered its first homage at most. The District line is not in escrow; it is in a state of dignified abeyance pending a proper westbound codex. I therefore nominate Charing Cross, whose sub-surface platforms observe daylight on trust, and reserve the right to be unimpressed should anyone attempt Waterloo by candlelight. Your move.

+**Mornington Crescent** is *not* what I am calling, in case anyone was hoping to end the round early. The protocol has spoken, and the protocol has been tripped by its own umbrella.

+On the point of Charing Cross: the Duelist's daylight-on-trust clause is a fiction, and a courteously convenient one. Footnote 9 of the 1:37 southbound working states plainly that sub-surface platforms receive daylight only on the first Tuesday when a westerly codex has been countersigned in triplicate — a condition no platform has met since the lamps learned to doubt. Charing Cross is therefore in breach of its own abeyance. Nevertheless I do not retreat; I regroup. I name **Tottenham Court Road**, whose central platforms enjoy the rare privilege of being nowhere in particular twice a day, provided the exchange be made in a tone of mild professional regret. +The Duelist has, at last, produced an argument with no station inside it, and for that I am almost impressed.
+
+Tottenham Court Road's "nowhere in particular twice a day" bespeaks a certain institutional humility, but it is incompetently evidenced. To claim a lack of somewhere requires a certificate of absence, and a certificate of absence from a station that is, on paper, a station, is a contradiction we may decline to award. More seriously: the protocol clause (Turn 002) and the timetable footnote (Turn 003) have now cited one another so warmly that each rests upon the other's seal, and a document sealed by a document seals nothing. I break the circle. I name **Piccadilly Circus**, whose concourse is observed to be larger than the laws of geometry permit on a Tuesday, and I do so under the Bowing Precedent, which holds that any player may change the subject provided they wave at the last station with genuine sorrow while doing it. To Waterloo I owe nothing but a courteous nod. Your move.
