Refs #343. This is the Data and SSR section of phase 4.

SSR tracing for web-standard handlers

  • New entry @pangular-inspector/devtools/ssr:
    • withPangularSsr(handler) wraps any (request: Request) => Response. That covers Hono, h3 v2, Nitro and Angular's AngularAppEngine.
    • pangularSsrEventHandler() is for h3, Nitro and Analog; pangularSsrMiddleware() is for Fastify.
  • The Node middleware and the new wrapper share one core (ssr-trace.ts), so they record the same thing. The existing SSR tests pass unchanged.
  • The wrapper:
    • builds a fresh Response (immutable headers are fine) and merges Server-Timing;
    • counts the body as it streams, and records an aborted stream;
    • handles the forced client render and TransferState edit overrides;
    • records a handler that throws as a 500 and throws the error again.
  • Analog fixes:
    • Analog renders now show as Server, not Unknown.
    • Server HTTP calls link to the render when one render is in flight. With two in flight, they stay unlinked, and the docs say so.

Network waterfall and headers

  • A Table / Waterfall switch on the HTTP timeline. The waterfall groups calls by navigation, shows start offset and duration bars coloured by outcome, and works with the arrow keys. The call preview shows request and response headers.
  • Capturing headers: the overlay only keeps a reference to the HttpHeaders Angular already built, and reads it once when the call is reported. Each call is capped at 40 headers of 500 characters.
  • Redaction:
    • Authorization, Proxy-Authorization, Cookie and Set-Cookie are always masked, even when redaction.unmask lists them.
    • Secret-looking names are masked too, along with JWTs, bearer tokens and credentials inside values.
    • This happens on the page, on the server and in the agent tools.
  • New read-only tool http-waterfall, and a headers argument on list-http-calls.

Service values in the Injectors view

  • Show value under a provider reads the instance Angular already made. It never creates one:
    • an environment injector answers only from its records;
    • an element injector answers only for a token something on the page already injected.
  • Values are read the same way as component properties: own fields and unwrapped signals, redacted, with nested levels loaded on demand. Getters and methods never run.
  • A real-app test with constructor counters proves nothing is constructed.
  • New read-only tool read-provider-value.

NgRx: past states, sessions and generated tests

  • Each log entry keeps its before and after states. State is immutable, so entries share structure. History is bounded by limits.changeLog.
  • An entry has Action / Diff / State tabs; State is read lazily.
  • Sessions: export a range as JSON, and import one back. Imports are checked:
    • format and version;
    • at most 1000 entries and 4,000,000 characters;
    • no prototype paths.
  • Generate test writes a Vitest spec: a reducer spec for @ngrx/store, or a TestBed spec for a signal store. Real-store tests replay exported sessions through the app's own reducer.
  • Agent tools:
    • read: inspect-ngrx-entry, export-ngrx-session, import-ngrx-session, generate-ngrx-test;
    • action: restore-ngrx-state, dropped by agent.readOnly and actions.ngrx: false.

Other stores and TanStack Query

  • NGXS, Elf and MiniRx report through their own Redux DevTools integration. A stand-in for window.__REDUX_DEVTOOLS_EXTENSION__ records what they send.
    • If the real extension is present, every call is passed on to it.
    • NgRx Store DevTools connections are passed through, not recorded.
    • A new @pangular-inspector/devtools/store-hook entry installs the stand-in early, so stores created at bootstrap report too.
  • These stores show in the Store tab next to NgRx. They're read-only there: no Restore, Dispatch again or Session, because only their latest state is kept.
  • TanStack Query: a new Queries tab (inspector key tanstackQuery). It lists queries and mutations with status, staleness, observers, errors and redacted previews.
    • The QueryClient is found only once the app has injected it; the overlay never creates one.
    • Tools: list-queries and inspect-query (read), and query-action (invalidate or refetch, an action).
  • Real NGXS, Elf, MiniRx and @tanstack/query-core are added as dev dependencies of the package, for tests only.

Docs

  • getting-started/other-servers.md (trace SSR renders), guides/analog.md, inspectors/ssr-http.md, inspectors/injectors.md and inspectors/ngrx-store.md (other stores, sessions, tests).
  • A new inspectors/tanstack-query.md.
  • agents/tools.md (Eighty-six tools, with seventeen that act on the app), agents/mcp-server.md, agents/resources.md, getting-started/configuration.md, installation.md, security.md and docs/CONTEXT.md.

Checks

Check Result
pnpm format:check Passes
pnpm typecheck Passes
pnpm test:devtools 2839 passed
pnpm test:panel 701 passed
pnpm docs:build Passes
pnpm skills:check Passes
pnpm commit:check Passes
pnpm extension:build Done, in its own commit

Browser checks (axe, dark and light, 1280 and 360 px, before combining): each view had no axe violations and no overflow:

  • the waterfall;
  • the Store tab with an NGXS store and NgRx history;
  • the Queries list and its Mutations view;
  • Show value in Injectors.

Not covered

  • Request headers are the ones the call had when it reached withPangular(). Headers added by later interceptors aren't seen.
  • A QueryClient provided only in a component's providers isn't found.
  • Provider values aren't wired in the Angular Native and NativeScript overlays.
  • The demo apps don't include NGXS, Elf, MiniRx or TanStack Query.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added a Queries inspector for browsing and filtering TanStack Query data, with optional query invalidation and refetch actions.
    • Added support for inspecting provider values and Redux DevTools-compatible stores, including NGXS, Elf, and MiniRx.
    • Added NgRx history tools to inspect entries, export and import sessions, generate tests, and restore past state.
    • Added HTTP waterfall views and request/response header previews, with sensitive values masked.
    • Added SSR tracing options for web-standard handlers and additional server integrations.
  • Documentation

    • Expanded setup, configuration, inspector, security, and agent-tool guidance for these features.

SSR traces work with web-standard handlers (Hono, h3, Nitro, Analog), client calls get a waterfall with redacted headers, the Injectors view can read a created service's value, NgRx gets past states, sessions and generated tests, and NGXS, Elf, MiniRx and TanStack Query get their own views.

352-352: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | 💤 Low value

Wrap the queryKey read in read() the same way the other reads are wrapped.

Every other property access on a cache item goes through read(). Line 352 reads item['queryKey'] directly. In the same way, line 368 passes item['queryKey'] to serialize without a guard. If a cache entry has a throwing getter, run throws. The RPC handler catches that error, so the impact is low. Use read(() => item['queryKey'], undefined) for consistency.

Make the fake extension a function with methods, like the real extension.

fakeExtension() returns a plain object. The real window.__REDUX_DEVTOOLS_EXTENSION__ is a callable enhancer factory with connect, disconnect, send and the other methods attached to it. Because of the plain object, these tests pass while the forwarding defect in redux-devtools-hook.ts Line 139 stays hidden. Add a case where the fake is Object.assign(vi.fn(), { connect, disconnect, send, open }).

safely escaped RegExp construction rather than inserting their raw text, and use
a non-executable fallback for invalid values. Update `comment()` to neutralize
U+2028 and U+2029 as well as CR/LF so generated comments cannot be terminated

preserve the current behavior for non-redacted values.

enhancer for enhancer-form calls.

@erkamyaman erkamyaman changed the title feat(http): add fetch SSR tracing, a waterfall and more store tools feat: add fetch SSR tracing, a waterfall, store history and a TanStack Query inspector Oct 13, 2026
The Redux DevTools stand-in can be called and forwards to the real
extension. Session files can't grow lists without bound or inject code
into generated tests. `$value` provider reads keep token redaction, query
requests need their pageId, and resource detection runs no getters. SSR
traces expire, and the panel keeps focus in the session tools, shows call
status in the waterfall and names repeated provider tokens apart.
Rebuilds extension/ui for the store, waterfall and injector panel changes.

If a user opens a waterfall row and closes its preview, closePreview() finds no button[data-call-id] in the waterfall. Focus then has no return target. Give waterfall rows a matching call identifier, or make this lookup support both row types.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Discard older reads of the same provider.

If a user closes and reopens the value while a read is pending, toggle() can start a second read for the same key. If the second read finishes first, the first read can later replace its answer with an older value. Track a request sequence in load() and accept only the latest response.

SSR traces now expire after five minutes without activity instead of five minutes after they start, closing a waterfall preview returns focus to its row, and a provider value shows only its latest read. The SSR docs say which traced request a server call links to.
Rebuilds extension/ui for the waterfall and provider value changes.

Split the long paragraph into shorter sentences.

The guidelines require one idea per sentence and short, plain sentences. Line 293 packs about six ideas into a few long sentences. The colon-chained header list is hard to scan. Consider a bullet list for the header rules.

506-509: 🎯 Functional Correctness

The hook is intentionally tied to the store inspector. store-hook.ts states that the overlay removes the stand-in when the store inspector is disabled. overlay.ts also attaches the Redux stores only when on.ngrx is enabled. No repository consumer establishes an independent requirement for the stand-in when ngrx is disabled.
