feat(overlay): explain change detection, leaks and common errors - #395

Conversation
Phase 4 diagnosis: each recorded cycle says what started it, with wasted checks, inputs that break OnPush and zone.js dependents; components destroyed but still retained, open subscriptions and live effects are listed; and NG0100, hydration mismatches and NullInjectorError get explainers, with a new explain-injection tool. Refs #343.
The panel gained the diagnosis, leaks and error explainer views.
Restore subscribe after a fast tracking toggle, keep leak reports and signal-graph reads behind the lease, match NG0100 writes by Angular's text and by name, keep dev-mode DI debug holds out of retained, name causes by component, report whether zone.js is loaded, and keep focus on busy buttons in the panel.
The panel picked up the focus, live region and leaks fixes.
From Angular 16.2 a development build records every injection for DI debugging, which keeps each destroyed component in memory, so Still retained would list them all. Report that instead of false positives, and keep revealed tree rows clear of the sticky toolbar.
The panel picked up the retention note and the toolbar clearance fix.

action and destructive tools, matching the 13 action and 2 destructive entries
in AGENT_SAFETY.
Review comments at @packages/devtools/src/cd-diagnosis.ts:
- Around line 282-283: Update the skip predicate in callerStack so generic names
such as set, update, notify, and register are skipped only when frameClass finds
no app-class prefix; keep Angular-specific names in ANGULAR_NOTIFY_PATH. Add a
unit test confirming an app frame such as CartStore.update directly below
signalFn.set is retained.
Review comments at @packages/devtools/src/leaks-collector.ts:
- Line 271: Update the default tree factory in the leak collector to pass
domTree() through the collector’s DomDirty.watch when dirty tracking is
available, while retaining the plain domTree() fallback when it is not. Keep the
custom options.tree path unchanged.

scrollIntoView with block nearest treats a row the sticky toolbar covers as visible, so arrow keys left the focused row under it. Measure and correct the scroll instead, and drop role=status from notes that never change.
The panel picked up the tree scroll fix.
…oots An app method called set, update, notify or register right below a signal write was cut from the cause stack, so the wrong class was named. The leaks walk now goes through the dirty tracker so changes in open shadow roots are seen, and the docs count fifteen tools that act on the app, with hydration listed.

Refs #343. This is the Diagnosis section of phase 4, except the single audit entry point, which builds on these findings and comes next.
Why a cycle ran, and what it wasted
While a change detection recording is on, each cycle now says what started it: a DOM event (type, target and listener component), an HTTP response, a timer, a signal write (with the signal's name), an effect,
markForCheck, an input, an appApplicationRef.tick()or a zone.js tick. The overlay reads this from Angular's change detection scheduler without creating anything, and undoes its hooks when the recording stops. The recording also counts:
ChangeDetectionStrategy.Eager).Panel: a "Why it ran and what it wasted" section under change detection, and "from " on the latest cycles. Agents: a new read-only
pangular:diagnose-change-detectiontool, and the cause on thechange-detectiontool's cycle lines.Leaks
A Leaks section on the Components page, and two tools:
pangular:find-leaks(read) andpangular:track-subscriptions(action).Observable.prototype.subscribeonly while on, and restores it on stop.WeakRefandFinalizationRegistry.Error explainers
hydrationtool. Hydration errors are only caught if the overlay is running when the app hydrates; the docs say so.pangular:explain-injectiontool and an Explain lookup button. It walks the lookup the way Angular does, honouringself, skipSelf, hostandoptional, and says at each injector whether the token is provided and why the lookup stops. Element injectors now report theirhost.Review and browser checks
A code review and a live browser check (demo app, Chromium, axe, keyboard, dark and light, 1280 and 360px) ran on the combined work. Their findings are fixed in this branch:
subscribewrapped;<body>on busy buttons;aria-pressed;RepeaterContextand "signal ?".axe found no violations, and there is no overflow at 360px.
