tl;dr: Upgrade Go from 1.27.1 to 1.27.2 so the coverage badge reports the right number (55.5% → 66.8%).

Go 1.27.1 counts a code block's full statement total again for each piece it splits off at a blank line, which inflated the coverage total by about 12,000 statements; 1.27.2 fixes this.
