This is the latest version of argus, and introduces significant bug fixes and new features to support improved tunnel accountability and encapsulation processing.

Argus v5.0.2 is a 'minor' upgrade, in that it is backward compatible with argus-clients-5.0.0 programs and utilities, and introduces new 'work in progress' example projects, specifically DNS control plane content processing, radns.1, and an active address tracing facility based on observed traffic, ratrace.1.

There are a number of bug fixes, including one for IPv6 packet processing that is a 'significant' bug (missing data), there is a fix for a 'critical' bug (one that generates execution faults) as well as fixes for the additional support for tunnel parsing, such as GRE, VxLAN.

This is the latest version of argus, and represents a significant upgrade with bug fixes, performance improvements and new features to support comprehensive endpoint network monitoring, zero configuration operations, improved performance, control plane payload capture, and enhanced tunnel awareness support.

Argus v5.0 changes the basic record format to support IPv6 and UUID's as argus source id's, and as a result is not compatible with v3.x data. As a result, v3.x client programs cannot read V5.0 data. The companion argus-clients upgrade, provides backward and forward compatibility and can read and write both V3 and V5 formatted argus data and convert between the two versions.

There are a large number of bug fixes for all features and additional support for tunnel parsing, such as GRE, VxLAN. We have support for additional push distribution techniques, and new behavioral analytics support.
