OneWare Studio selects the target of a package by comparing it, with the hyphens removed, to the platform identifier, which is osxarm64 on Apple Silicon; for native tools it then falls back to osx-x64. The target osx-arm15 never matches, and GHDL 6.0.0 has no osx-x64 build, so installing or upgrading to 6.0.0 on Apple Silicon fails with "No compatible target found for package ghdl version 6.0.0". With osx-arm64 the package manager selects the aarch64 build the version already lists. Fixes one-ware#31
OneWare Studio selects the target of a package by comparing it, with the hyphens removed, to the platform identifier, which is osxarm64 on Apple Silicon; for native tools it then falls back to osx-x64. The target osx-arm never matches, so on Apple Silicon the package manager installed the x86_64 build of GHDL 5.1.1, which needs Rosetta, instead of the aarch64 build the version already lists. OneWare Studio selects the target of a package by comparing it, with the hyphens removed, to the platform identifier, which is
osxarm64on Apple Silicon (PackageInstallerBase.SelectTarget); for native tools it then falls back toosx-x64(NativeToolPackageInstaller.SelectTarget). The Apple Silicon targets of GHDL 6.0.0 (osx-arm15) and 5.1.1 (osx-arm) never match:osx-x64build, so installing or upgrading to it fails with "No compatible target found for package ghdl version 6.0.0" (bug: Cannot upgrade GHDL package to 6.0.0 on Apple Silicon macOS ("No compatible target found") #31).osx-x64target and installs the x86_64 build, which needs Rosetta (Wrong GHDL package downloaded on macOS ARM (Intel build used) #16).This sets both targets to
osx-arm64, as OneWare's own packages write it, in one commit each.Tested on Apple Silicon with OneWare Studio 1.0.43 built from source, the extension loaded with
--modulesinto fresh settings:master, installing 6.0.0 logs "No compatible target found for package ghdl version 6.0.0" and downloads nothing.ghdl-llvm-6.0.0-macos15-aarch64and 5.1.1 installsghdl-llvm-5.1.1-macos14-aarch64. Both binaries are arm64,ghdl --versionruns, and a small VHDL design analyses, elaborates and runs. The 6.0.0 build is the one for macOS 15 (
minos 15.0), so it needs macOS 15 or later on Apple Silicon; GHDL also publishes a build for macOS 14.Fixes #31
