I have modified assignment_1.qmd by answering the questions and created a new html file.

What did you learn from the changes you have made?

I have learned how to handle genetic dataset in a bash environment, and conduct standard tests and analyses in GWAS.

Was there another approach you were thinking about making? If so, what approach(es) were you thinking of?

I am using bash environment for the first time and so I don't know different approaches at the moment.

Were there any challenges? If so, what issue(s) did you face? How did you overcome it?

I initially faced a technical challenge with my OS and the later with the pull request. I managed to resolve the OS issue on my own, and Fan provided useful advice on overcoming the other.

How were these changes tested?

I tested each code chunk in my vs code, and later quarto rendered the .qmd file to double check if every code was working as expected.
