Please add support for PHP 8.5

Steps to reproduce

After upgrading to PHP 8.5 (and Nextcloud 33), the Tasks app cannot be activated and remains deactivated.

Expected behavior

After upgrading to PHP 8.5, the Tasks app can be reactivated. :-)

This was adjusted in main already with #3037. It will be released with 0.18.0. In the meantime 0.17.1 works just fine with Nextcloud 33.

Scheduled for January 2028?
You can't be serious.
Starting January 1, 2028, PHP 8.3 will require a license. I really hope the update for the “Task” app happens much sooner. Nextcloud 33.0.0 itself already works with PHP 8.5; the problem is just this app.

First of all, I don't know where you got this date from. Noone mentioned anything about January 2028.

Second, please read what was written above. Tasks works fine with Nextcloud 33 and PHP 8.5. You just have to enable it.

The “Task” app cannot be enabled with PHP 8.4 or 8.5. That is exactly the problem. As soon as you install PHP 8.4 or higher, “Task” disables itself with a message stating that the PHP version is too high.

If there's a way to enable “Task” in PHP 8.5, please let me know how to do it.

that is just the date this PR was opened and it does not mean "January 2028", but "28th January 2026"

Nextcloud 33 just added support for PHP 8.5 and it still works completely fine with 8.4, such as the Tasks app.

If you really want to use 8.5 and the Tasks app, you will have to manually adjust appinfo/info.xml line 23 as shown in the PR #3037 you linked.

Sorry, that was my mistake—I misread the date.

“Task” actually works with PHP 8.4. I had misinterpreted the warnings there as well.
