Launch Control

Check the required steps before approving a practice launch. If a required condition changes, review the decision again or choose a simulated pause or rollback. All records in this demo are fictional.

Try it: Find the step blocking launch, complete its sample evidence, and inspect the decision before running the simulation. Open the demo · Follow the walkthrough.

Experience connection: My experience includes phased releases, risk reviews and cross-functional delivery in enterprise environments. This example makes the readiness decision and its ownership visible. Read the decision to challenge.

Launch Control sample workspace

Product tradeoff: renewed readiness review costs time when a gate changes. The next investment depends on better launch reasoning relative to the existing checklist and credible ownership of the evidence. See the case study for the proposed comparison and investment criteria.

Try this decision

Northstar, a fictional operations platform, is preparing Analytics 2.4. Resolve Support enablement, complete the now-unlocked runbook check with sample evidence, record a go decision, and run the simulated launch. Trigger the sample post-launch issue and choose pause or rollback. Review the timestamped timeline or export the launch summary.

My role as Product Manager

I was the Product Manager responsible for problem framing, launch-policy tradeoffs, requirements, workflows, fictional sample-data design, acceptance criteria, and the evaluation plan. AI tools assisted with implementation and verification; this does not claim that I manually wrote the application code, managed an engineering team, or shipped a Northstar product.

PM review route

Review the decision brief, then the seeded walkthrough, PRD, and measurement plan. Product decisions, discovery, and validation show the alternatives, study method, and conditions for the next investment.

Product decisions

Decision Why Tradeoff
Unlock checks only after prerequisites clear Keep the sequence operationally credible Teams cannot complete work out of order
Require owner, evidence, and a recorded go Turn readiness into an enforced rule The final review takes deliberate effort
Require pause or rollback for the sample issue Make response accountability visible The demo models only two response paths

What works

Editable dependency owners and states, prerequisite-locked readiness checks, mandatory evidence, recorded go/no-go rationale, enforced simulated launch, timestamped activity, a sample post-launch issue, pause/rollback decisions, browser persistence, reset, and JSON summary export.

All people, evidence, launch records, and outcomes are fictional. No control deploys software, messages people, changes traffic, or connects to a production system. Changes stay in your browser. This project is independent of the other Northstar portfolio demonstrations. No measured customer outcomes or completed human research are claimed.
