dependabot Bot force-pushed the dependabot/npm_and_yarn/preact-11.0.0 branch from bb6dcd0 to 7b008ca Compare October 5, 2026 16:33
Preact 11 changes two things the @astro-devtools/ui primitives relied
on, which failed the lint job's typecheck:

- The `JSX` namespace keeps only what TypeScript needs, so `Caption`
and `Row` take `HTMLAttributes` from `preact` itself, as the upgrade
  guide prescribes.
- `a`, `input`, and `select` are now typed as unions that tie `role` to
  `href`, `type`, or `multiple`, and a plain `Omit` merges the members
into props the element no longer accepts. `Select` and `TextInput`
omit per member through a new `DistributiveOmit`; `ExternalLink`
takes the props of an anchor with an `href`, whose `role` is limited
to the ones a link may take, and renders its inert anchor as a branch
  of its own.

Raise the ui package's preact peer range to ^11.0.0 with the catalog:
`ExternalLinkProps` needs Preact 11's anchor union.

The runtime changes need no code change: no style object relies on
`px` suffixing, nothing uses `defaultProps`, `replaceNode`, or
`Component.base`, and passive effect cleanups, now run after paint,
still run before the next passive effects.

@astrojs/preact 6.0.5 and @storybook/preact 10.6.1, the latest stable
releases, still declare preact ^10 peers; the unit, story, and e2e
tests pass on 11 regardless.
