.NET: [Sample Request] Add Chroma vector memory sample #9244
Description
Problem
The .NET AgentWithMemory samples have no sample that uses Chroma.
Use Case and Evidence
microsoft/semantic-kernel#12510 asked for a Chroma provider, and it now exists: CommunityToolkit.VectorData.Chroma (CommunityToolkit/AI#58).
Desired Outcome
A sample that stores chat history in Chroma and recalls it in a new session.
Alternatives Considered
Adapting the Cosmos DB sample of Step 08 by hand.
Proposed Direction
A Step 10 modeled on Step 08, with ChatHistoryMemoryProvider over ChromaVectorStore.
Scope and Non-Goals
Sample only, no change to the Agent Framework API.
Language
.NET
Contribution Intent
I am willing to implement this
The sample is ready. I maintain ChromaDotNet.Client. This issue and the sample were written with AI assistance and reviewed by me.
Acknowledgements
- I searched existing issues and did not find a duplicate.
- I will wait for explicit maintainer agreement before starting implementation of a non-trivial change.

westey (@westey-m) now that
CommunityToolkit.VectorData.Chromais listed in the .NET community projects (#9407), would a PR with this sample be welcome? It would be a Step 10 next toAgentWithMemory_Step08_MemoryUsingCosmosNoSql: the sameChatHistoryMemoryProviderflow overChromaVectorStore, with no change to the Agent Framework API.
