Modify example to work locally prior to pushing to heroku

As requested, I'm providing a pull request. It's been three weeks since I worked on this code, so my memory is a little hazy. Ideally I would update your read me to describe the steps on setting up a local memcache server ie. brew install memcached; /usr/local/bin/memcached -vv

I find that getting an example to work locally is helpful, before pushing to heroku, that way I can isolate any issues.
