ForceRes 1.0.0 (beta)
First public beta.
Force any display to 720p, 1080p, 1440p or 4K from the menu bar, with a refresh-rate picker for whatever resolution is in effect.
- Signed and notarized, so it opens without a Gatekeeper warning.
- Every change reverts itself after 15 seconds unless you confirm.
- Quitting restores every display to the resolution it started on.
- Sizes your panel cannot show are greyed out, with the panel's own size as the reason.
- 16:9 or 16:10 tiles, chosen per display, since every MacBook panel is 16:10.
- On a multi-display Mac the panel opens aimed at the screen whose menu bar you clicked.
- Built-in MacBook panels go through a mirrored virtual display, which runs at 60 Hz.
Requires macOS 15 or later on Apple Silicon. Unzip and drag ForceRes.app to Applications.
