Luis Sadowski dos Santos

Physics student at TU Berlin — embedded systems, UAV & RF, data analysis

I like solving hard problems end to end: from theoretical analysis and planning through to implementation in the lab and in field tests.

As a working student at Raydiant RF, the test drones were my area of responsibility — I built and converted the platforms, wrote firmware for antenna control systems, and developed a hardware-in-the-loop simulation environment. I'm equally at home in data analysis with Python, from genetic algorithms to evaluating measurement data.

What I've built

Hardware-in-the-loop simulation An ArduPilot SITL environment on a Raspberry Pi 4 whose telemetry port behaves toward real hardware exactly like the flight controller — system tests without flight tests
Jamming detection Commissioned bearing detection for jammers on an ArduPilot drone, integrated it into the HIL environment, and verified it in the lab and in the field
Sparse array optimization Optimized antenna geometries with genetic algorithms (PyGAD); non-smooth fitness function due to spacing and edge constraints
868 MHz conversion Converted a test drone's control link to a clear band after the 2.4 GHz band was jammed at the test site

From my degree: femtosecond laser autocorrelation at the Fritz Haber Institute, verifying the rocket equation via video tracking, and solving differential equations in analog with operational amplifiers. All with approach and results on the website.

Right now

I'm looking for a working student position in software, hardware, or data — full-time during semester breaks, up to 20 h/week during the semester, based in Berlin. Alongside that I take on freelance work in web development, hardware development, and IT, as well as tutoring in physics and mathematics.
