Required Project mode validates and verifies routing, guards native Send, preserves drafts on pre-send failures, and disables Codex fallback. Documentation and tests cover routing, submission, and backend behavior. ChangesProject Routing

6671-6677: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winAdd a CLI opt-out for
IMAGE_USE_REQUIRE_PROJECT.
--require-projectusesaction="store_true"and takes its default fromIMAGE_USE_REQUIRE_PROJECT. The README and SKILL suggest exporting that variable. With the variable exported,--backend codex,--backend gemini,--backend agy, and--project ""all exit atparser.errorwith exit 2. No flag can turn the setting off for one run. The only workaround is to override the environment, for exampleIMAGE_USE_REQUIRE_PROJECT=0 image-use ....The project requires Python 3.10+, so
argparse.BooleanOptionalActionis available. It adds--no-require-projectand keeps the env default.♻️ Proposed change

感谢 @IndelibleVivi,这版改动的边界划得很清楚:URL 目标只认 本地复核(PR head 3724327):
读 diff 时注意到的几点:
我这边没做真实出图的端到端验证(会消耗配额),判断依据是静态阅读和单测。第 1 点修掉之后就可以等 owner 用 squash merge 落地。 |

--projectcurrently resolves only a display name through the sidebar list/create API. Callers with an existing Project URL need to target that exact project, and some callers need the run to stop when Project routing fails. This adds URL targets and an opt-in requirement while preserving name lookup/creation, best-effort routing, ordinaryautofallback, and retention defaults.--project NAME_OR_URL/IMAGE_USE_PROJECT: accept existing HTTPS ChatGPT Project landing URLs, resolve their full stableg-p-<32-hex-id>, and open directly without listing or creating. Localized/plain or percent-encoded display slugs, query/fragment decorations, and trailing slashes are accepted. Invalid URL-like inputs fail before browser/backend work instead of becoming project names.--require-project/IMAGE_USE_REQUIRE_PROJECT=1: require a nonempty target andweb/auto; Project failures stop the run, and unavailable web never probes Codex credentials or falls back to Codex. This does not imply--keep-conversationor change default deletion.--no-require-projectoverrides the environment default for one run, restoring ordinary routing/backend behavior without changing the exported variable.Validation:
python3 -m unittest test_image_use -q: 389 tests pass (26 added), including per-run overrides of current/legacy environment defaults, empty-Project/non-web opt-outs, unchanged exported defaults, legacy fallback/retention compatibility, entry failures, real page-JS capture-guard fixtures with changes after arming, cleanup/expiry, and long-prompt stdin transport. The JS fixture test runs when Node is available; the CLI retains stdlib-only dependencies.python3 -m py_compile image-use chatgpt-imagegenand staged diff checks pass.Project identity is verified from the browser route. During the smoke, a DOM-only click remained on a local provisional conversation; the native-click implementation produced a persisted server conversation, so the normal native interaction is retained. Public fixtures are synthetic; account/project/conversation details are omitted. Version/release metadata is left for the maintainer.
