checkout v5, cache v5, upload-artifact v6, download-artifact v7, gh-release v3. Clears Node.js 20 deprecation warnings. No behavior change for our usage (verified against upstream release notes).

Local rehearsal branch. Validates the hardened CI pipeline (tests + JaCoCo gate on 3 OSes, native compilation) before merging to main. Do not merge until CI is green and review is complete.
