2.14.0 pulled zip 4.6.1 (Windows update extraction), hit by the zip advisories (cloaking, symlink targets, AES HMAC bypass). 2.14.1 depends on zip 9, locked at 9.1.3.

tauri-plugin-updater2.14.0 -> 2.14.1, the only crate pullingzip(Windows update extraction). 2.14.0 requiredzip ^4(locked 4.6.1); 2.14.1 requires^9(locked 9.1.3, >= 9.0.5). Fixes Dependabot alerts #121, #122, #123. Dependabot's advisory ranges (< 9.0.0, <= 9.0.4) all cover 4.6.1. The lockfile also dropsarbitraryandderive_arbitraryand addstyped-path,nixandcfg_aliases.Checked on crates.io on 2026-10-30: 2.14.1 (published 2026-10-28) declares
zip ^9for Windows; zip's latest is 9.1.3.Verification:
cargo build --locked,cargo test --lockedandcargo clippy --locked --all-targets -- -D warningspass on Linux. zip is Windows-only, so Linux does not compile it.cargo check -p zip --target x86_64-pc-windows-gnupasses, but a full Windows check needs mingw (ring). The Windows CI job covers the rest.
