Dynamically changing the nodes

Hi @karlicoss I'm thinking on programmatically changing my orgmode repo with python. I see that you've thought on the past about being able to write the AST to a file and I wanted to know if you'd be interested in contributions to extend the objects interface to support operations such as:

• refiling headings
• promoting and demoting
• marking as DONE a recurrent task
• ...

Sooner or later I'll implement them for myself, what I don't know if it belongs to this project or if I should make a new one

Hey, have you implemented the dynamic node changes perchance? I'm also looking for a way to programmatically change my Org files.

Hey — I built a library called org-workspace that handles exactly this use case. It uses orgparse as the parser and adds a write layer on top.

What it does:

• State transitions (task.transition("DONE"))
• Property reads/writes (task.set_property("SCHEDULED", ...))
• Refiling headings between files
• Safe concurrent writes (file-level locking, transaction semantics)
• GTD queries across workspace files
