Summary

  • Python package moved from cortex/ to src/cortex/ (PyPA src layout standard)
  • Content templates moved from src/ to templates/ (Django-style separation)
  • "No PR, no work" instinct added to kernel
  • All paths updated: compile.py, cli.py, CI workflows, scripts, version_bump, tests, CLAUDE.md, README.md

Why

src/ containing content templates while Python source lived in cortex/ violated PyPA conventions and confused the layout. Now:

  • src/cortex/ = Python source (standard)
  • templates/ = content templates (self-documenting)

Test plan

  • 123 tests pass locally
  • cortex compile produces correct output
  • CI passes on this branch
