Elglo

Control an Elgato Key Light without leaving the Omarchy bar.

Elglo discovers your light over mDNS and talks directly to Elgato's local HTTP API. Power, brightness, and colour temperature stay one click away—without a cloud account or a permanently running vendor application.

Install

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/iamarkus/elglo.git --enable

Elglo requires Omarchy's Quattro shell, Python 3, and avahi-browse. Omarchy normally includes these dependencies. Your light and computer must be on the same local network.

The plugin is tested with an Elgato Key Light MK2. Other Elgato lights exposing the _elg._tcp service and local /elgato/lights API may also work.

Use

• Left-click the bulb to open the controls.
• Right-click the bulb to turn the light on or off.
• Scroll over the bulb to change brightness in 5% steps.
• Middle-click the bulb to rediscover the light.

Move it to another section of the bar at any time:

omarchy bar move io.github.iamarkus.elglo --section right

Privacy and permissions

Elglo runs with your normal user permissions. It starts no daemon, uses no credentials, contacts no cloud service, and writes no configuration outside Omarchy's normal plugin state. Network traffic is limited to mDNS discovery and plain HTTP requests sent directly to the selected light on your LAN.

Remove

omarchy plugin remove io.github.iamarkus.elglo

Removal deletes the plugin files and its Omarchy registration. It does not change the light's saved settings or install system packages.
