API v2 and some strange issues with WP 6.9 RC

I'm sorry for a vague issue here, but wanted to get it on the radar since WP 6.9 is getting released within the next few days, if not tomorrow.

While testing 6.9 RC (4 right now), the filters show a warning for API version 2.

Also, my posts don't render with the full styling when I filter.

Many times, the posts don't filter at all. It shows "X results" but nothing changes, and no errors in the console. Strange.

It all works fine on 6.8.3.

Here are the errors I'm seeing on 6.9. This is with the search block in the Query Loop.

Thanks for flagging this ahead of the 6.9 release — it was the right call, and all three symptoms have since been addressed.

Re-tested on WordPress 7.0.4 (PHP 8.4, Twenty Twenty-Five), plugin at main:

• API version 2 warning — both blocks declare "apiVersion": 3 now, and registration is clean with no notices.
• Posts don't filter at all, no console errors — this was the interactivity API change in 6.9: event.preventDefault() stopped working in a store action unless the action is wrapped in withSyncEvent(), which is exactly the "it says X results but nothing changes, silently" symptom. Fixed in Wrap navigation events in withSyncEvent HOC to allow preventDefault #51. The full e2e suite passes on 6.9 and 7.0, and the only remaining withSyncEvent deprecation I could trigger on a page using this plugin comes from core's own navigation block, not from here.
• Posts don't render with full styling when filtering — the stylesheet the blocks ship was 404ing; fixed in Ship the block stylesheet instead of 404ing on it #57. If you were also seeing theme JSON block style variations drop out, that's JSON Styles break after filtering #41, which I couldn't reproduce on 6.9 or 7.0 — details in the comment there, and worth a note on that issue if you still hit it.

Closing as fixed. Please reopen or file fresh if anything from this list still shows up on 6.9+.
