Super_pommels_and_flag rotating flagpole finial v0.7.6

Super_pommels_and_flag is an experimental rotating flagpole-finial project combining printable PETG/TPU mechanics, an EL-wire illuminated fish flag, a separate 12 V top lamp, ESP32-C3 firmware, BLE control, a local Android application, and an offline component, drawing, and 3D catalog.

The external KBXlife 2S3P battery assembly connects through the selected two-pin sealed pair #011 and supplies the finial with an unregulated 6.0–8.4 V range. Battery wiring, BMS, charging and the battery-side main fuse remain outside this repository. Separate internal branches generate 5 V for the ESP32-C3, 3.0–3.1 V for the EL inverter through filter #029, and 12 V only for the top lamp.

The current cumulative engineering handoff is v0.7.6. All 26 canonical printable parts are defined as native build123d/OCP B-Reps rather than copied from transitional meshes. The lowered #petg-2 flag entry feeds a body-hugging, downward-open wet rail and a single bottom #tpu95-3/#tpu95-4 dry-box grommet; #tpu95-10 adds a flexible ribbed tail. All 18 joints are regenerated for M3 ISO 7380-1 / DIN 7380 button-head screws, ordinary metal hex nuts without nylon inserts, and removable medium-strength threadlocker applied only to the metal thread after dry fitting. Each service-lid screw uses an isolated wet cassette: its one short-wall opening both loads the nut and drains the shaft, with no separate lower drain or sump. The smooth reinforced #petg-12 has a fully open stepped glue cavity for the lamp neck, provisional Ø15 collar zone and flare; its cable follows a continuous mostly-horizontal gallery to a below-seal potting well without isolated vertical shafts. The generated hybrid #tpu85-4 uses a 23 mm tail, Ø4.5 mm throat, a 16 mm upper cup with a useful Ø10×5 mm wire-anchor recess and two 5 mm spring grooves for separate component #028; its 15/20 mm travel remains an unvalidated target. The generated #petg-11 bearing adapter has quantity two and appears only in PETG print layouts until its fits are physically accepted. Catalog #204 therefore remains at 24 general-review nodes and excludes both #petg-11 and #tpu85-4; the latter is limited to TPU85 layout #208 and standalone test model #213. Model #212 reviews the provisional lamp, cable route, measured dual-MOSF envelope and radio keep-out.

Rigid parts target the already purchased orange PETG. TPU 95A is used for retained functional soft parts; TPU 85A is used for three static seals and the test hybrid carrier #tpu85-4, whose return spring is purchased component #028. ASA remains a possible future reprint. This is not a production-ready or safety-certified product: purchased-part fits, outdoor durability, sealing, thermal behaviour, wiring, BLE, and structural strength still require physical validation.

Repository areas

  • mechanical/ — current parametric model generator, 50 validated STL files (26 production parts plus 24 coupons) and ten GLB files (nine catalog model cards plus the simplified-fastener overlay), drawings, previews, and validation data; the digital outputs remain physically unvalidated;
  • electronics/ — current wiring drawings and ESP32-C3 firmware;
  • android/ — local BLE control application prototype;
  • catalog/ — generated offline catalog whose sources include components.json, the single physical-measurement registry physical-components.json, and drawings.json;
  • docs/ — current status, design rationale, audits, and immutable ADR history;
  • scripts/, tools/quality/, and tests/ — reproducibility and repository checks.

Stable filenames containing v0_6 are retained for compatibility, but their current generated content is version 0.7.6.

The canonical printable source is mechanical/generate_build123d_canonical_v076.py and the native STEP/report output is stored in mechanical/build123d_v076/. Legacy reference drawings and non-print interactive scenes keep their existing generators and are regenerated only when the owner explicitly requests them.

Local component, drawing, and 3D catalog

Run from the repository root on Windows:

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\tools\windows\open-component-catalog.ps1

The script binds a local server to 127.0.0.1, opens catalog/catalog.html, and enables interactive GLB viewing. Stop it with Ctrl+C.

To open the catalog explicitly in Firefox:

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\tools\windows\open-component-catalog.ps1 -Browser Firefox

Regeneration and checks

Run the complete model, drawing, catalog, and validation pipeline from the synchronized antivirus-safe worktree only when the relevant scopes in mechanical/generation_readiness_v076.json are marked ready:

.\build.cmd all

Canonical CAD and legacy-reference sources are current for M3, raw 2S and EL Wire, and both generation scopes are marked ready. Do not invoke individual Python generators directly; use the unified build.cmd modes. The generate and all modes will fail closed again whenever a known-stale source is registered. Large *.step, *.stl, and *.glb files use Git LFS; PNG remains in regular Git.

The checks validate repository consistency and STL topology. They do not establish a verified IP rating, safe load, fit, temperature, lifetime, or correct operation on real hardware.
