The former is unmaintained and does not follow the UUID spec. See for example nu7hatch/gouuid#5 (not merged in 5 years) and the jtaylor fork which recommends satori/go.uuid instead.
I would prefer to use the tagged 1.2.0, but that version panics on error, whereas
masterreturns an error instead and is basically the same API as nu7hatch's. Hopefully, a new version satori/go.uuid#76 is released soon.
