CHANGELOG: 1.2.0 - #54

main moved to forkcloser/go-graphviz v0.4.0 (Renovate). Its changes reach dot's output in every format, not raster only: text measured with the installed fonts shifts layouts, lines are a third wider at 96 dpi, node images take Graphviz's box, and oversized pages and images are refused; plus landscape rendering and glyph fallback fixes. The command line is unchanged, but that is more than a patch's worth of difference in what users get, so 1.2.0. ✅ at e5639ac. Every entry traces to go-graphviz's [0.4.0] section, and minor is the right bump.
🔍 Checked:
compare v1.1.1...mainshows only go.mod and go.sum (go-graphviz v0.3.1 → v0.4.0) and limen tooling, so nothing else user-visible needs an entry.- Entry by entry against go-graphviz's v0.4.0 CHANGELOG: font-measured layout; name resolution with embedded fallbacks in four cuts; pen width at 96 dpi (1.33 px, "a third wider");
imagescale/imageposboxes and the four image formats; the 256 MP page and 64 MP image limits; the rotate/landscape fix; the glyph fallback. - The omissions are fine for dot's users: the
Job.Rotationand plugin APIs, the untested symbol-font path, and the decode-once performance change. The PNG label-overflow fix is covered by "labels fit their nodes".
📝 This release still uses go-graphviz v0.4.0, where XDOT is "dot", so -Tdot is unchanged. The redefinition in forkcloser/go-graphviz#78 lands with a later bump.

🎯 Why: dot's main carries forkcloser/go-graphviz v0.4.0 (Renovate), unreleased. That's a real upstream change, so it gets a release.
🛠️ What: CHANGELOG.md [1.2.0], dated 2026-10-07: go-graphviz 0.4.0's changes as dot's users see them, linking its CHANGELOG.
🧪 How:
git diff v1.1.1 mainshows only the go-graphviz require (v0.3.1 → v0.4.0) and tooling. Every entry traces to go-graphviz's 0.4.0 section. It's minor rather than patch because layouts shift in every format, as 1.1.0's Graphviz move did.just lint(every lane but links) andjust testgreen locally. U: links (sandbox).
