🎯 Why: this .gitignore carries entries that limen's baseline does not have and nothing in this repository produces.
🛠️ What:

  • /build: nothing writes build/ since limen moved the build output to .build/, which /.build already covers.
  • The Rust and Svelte/Node template lines and the .local and WIP_ placeholders were active; they are commented as in limen's canonical .gitignore, since this repository has neither.
🧪 How: each dropped pattern was searched for in the repository's recipes, scripts, workflows and code. U: just lint not run locally; CI is the check, including limen's required-pattern rule.

limen moved the build output from build/ to .build/, and its required
pattern is now /.build; the /build line ignored a directory nothing writes
any more. The template lines for languages this repository does not use
(Rust, Svelte/Node) and the *.local and WIP_* placeholders are commented
again, as in limen's canonical .gitignore, ignore patterns that match
nothing produced here are dropped, and the patterns limen fix appended a
second time are folded into one.
