Need to create a release for Apple Silicon (arm64). With some minor changes, I was able to build the app and .dmg, but don't have the setup to sign/notarize.

I normally build binaries on my machines at home. I don't have any m1 or later mac hardware at the moment. Thanks for testing the build and letting me know.

I am not sure how I can go ahead with signing without the hardware. I have done quick research about running a VM, but they seem to be limited to x86 arch.

I may get my hands on the hardware in the future but there is no certainty. It's ongoing cost. Some time ago I bought a mac mini specifically to build binaries for encryptpad, but it was before they started moving to arm processors.

Yes, Apple Silicon platform is required. Until a signed image is released, everyone will need to do their own build, or download an ad-hoc signed image from somewhere and manually bypass the MacOS gatekeeper.
