Summary

The dashboard job (com.assistant.assistant-page) has failed every 30 seconds since about 10:05 local on 2026-10-18 with AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'replace' at render-assistant-page.py:347.

  • Cause: surface_resume_binding in bin/world-scanner.py takes the first record that has a checkpoint ID. cmux 0.65 lists a restore_record before the resume_binding, and that record names the folder working_directory, not cwd. So every session found through cmux got cwd: None in world.json; 6 of 11 live sessions had none.
  • Fix: the scanner reads cwd or working_directory. The renderer also treats a missing folder as empty instead of crashing.

Validation

  • Before: running the real renderer against a copy of the live world.json (scratch HOME) exits 1 with the same traceback. The scanner returns cwd: None for this session's live cmux surface.
  • After: the renderer exits 0 and writes the page with 7 session rows. The scanner returns cwd: /Users/mukuls/dev for the same surface.
  • Two new tests fail with the fix reverted and pass with it: a world-scanner build using the cmux 0.65 response shape, and a renderer test with cwd: None. tests/test_world_scanner.py and tests/test_renderer_tabs.py: 187 passed.
