In East Asian languages (CJK) the traditional way of writing was to arrange characters in vertical, not horizontal lines. Within the line characters are ordered from top to bottom and lines on the page are ordered from right to left.
In modern world the majority of documents use horizontal lines, but there are segments (e.g. Japanese fiction books) where vertical layout dominates.
Currently DocLang has no means to declare layout as vertical.
