Even though ORM is the best commonly known acronym to describe objection, a more accurate description is to call it **a relational query builder**. You get all the benefits of an SQL query builder but also a powerful set of tools for working with relations.

## About this repository

objection.js was created by [@koskimas](https://github.com/koskimas). I've maintained it at Vincit/objection.js since 2023. After Vincit removed my access in 2026, development continues here, published as the same npm package `objection`.

- 4.x is the current version. See the [changelog](https://ditojs.github.io/objection/release-notes/changelog.html) and the [migration guide](https://ditojs.github.io/objection/release-notes/migration.html).
- 3.x gets fixes on the [`3.x` branch](https://github.com/ditojs/objection/tree/3.x), published under the npm dist-tag `legacy`.
- Releases are published from GitHub Actions with npm trusted publishing, so each version has a provenance statement that links it to its tag in this repository.
- Issues and PRs are welcome here.

Objection.js is built on an SQL query builder called [knex](http://knexjs.org). All databases supported by knex are supported by objection.js. **SQLite3**, **Postgres** and **MySQL** are [thoroughly tested](https://github.com/ditojs/objection/actions).
