The Desktop Microsandbox preset selects the published
github.com/devsy-org/devsy-provider-microsandbox@v0.1.8source for a new provider under the namemicrosandbox. Effective-source selection and highlighting preserve preset naming, manual names take precedence, and duplicate names are refused before IPC. The existing--use=falseadd/init sequence preserves the current context default. Other presets, the custom embedded alias and existing internal records retain their behavior.The pin also survives ordinary provider reloads. Canonical GitHub sources retain their stored tag, including shorthand and legacy records. The separate latest-version probe removes the tag without mutating the stored source. For an already pinned GitHub provider, a Desktop update passes the version shown in its confirmation through IPC to the existing
--versionpath before initialization. An unknown target refreshes the configured pin; unpinned GitHub and other source kinds retain their existing reload behavior. Explicit version replacement and the complete-source race guard remain intact. The IPC boundary rejects malformed version tags before opening a provider job; optional missing/empty update tags preserve reload behavior, while set-version requires a nonempty string. Valid Git tag/ref text is forwarded unchanged.Rendered tests cover preset installation/naming, confirmed pinned updates, unpinned updates and unknown targets. IPC tests verify exact add/init and confirmed-version update/init arguments. Go regressions cover canonical pins, persisted resolution, the latest-version probe and source-change protection. Old-fail/new-pass checks reproduce pin loss, the latest-probe caller regression, the confirmed-target mismatch across renderer and main IPC, and malformed IPC tag handling. The rollout page records the behavior and accepted platform, performance and recovery limits.
