This section assumes you have obtained a clone of the DistrEx code repository.
Editing code
Now you can get started by opening the DistrEx.sln solution with Visual Studio 2010 SP1. Other versions of Visual Studio might work, e.g. VS2010 (w/o SP1), or VS2012; but these versions have not been tested.
Compiling code
Compiling can be done from within Visual Studio: Select the DistrEx solution in the Solution Explorer, and chose "(Re)Build All" from the context menu.
Dependencies
NuGet
DistrEx uses NuGet to manage dependencies. In order to compile from within Visual Studio, you'll need to install the NuGet Package Manager extension.
Once you've completed that step, you might need to "Enable NuGet package restore" on the solution. Select that option from the context menu on the solution in the Solution Explorer, and you should be set to go.
The first time NuGet will download some dependencies (DLLs) and it might even ask you to agree to some license agreements for the downloaded dependencies. You need to agree to those in order to proceed.
