Every accent was one lightness, and the hues near green are brighter at the same one: white on green, emerald, teal, cyan and sky was 3.3 to 3.7:1. Each hue now has its own lightness, set so white reads at 4.6:1 or better once the pane lets the page through, and as much chroma as the screen can show there, so a clipped colour does not shift hue. Orange on a light page carries dark writing, as amber does, rather than going dark enough for white to turn it to rust.
