CI review: fail the run when git cannot read the skip marks - #10
Conversation
…d of skipping Before 2.40, git has no check-attr --source; the error was swallowed, every changed file read as marked, and the run reported nothing to review and passed. check-attr now writes to a file first and a failure exits 2. Replicated with a git shim in the new test.

📝 Summary
Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to The fix makes the review run fail when Git cannot read the skip marks. The accompanying test is slightly loose about the exit status, which is a small follow-up rather than a merge blocker. Pre-merge checks |

A background security review found a fail-open in
run-review.sh. With a git older than 2.40, which has nocheck-attr --source(a self-hosted runner on Ubuntu 22.04's git, for example), the error was swallowed. No path came back, and the run reported "nothing to review" and passed, so the change went unreviewed.check-attr: the old script printed "nothing to review" and exited 0.check-attrwrites its output to a file first, and a failure exits 2 with a message saying git 2.40 or newer is needed.test_a_git_that_cannot_read_the_marks_fails_the_run_instead_of_skipping(red, then green). Full suite: 786 passed, 40 skipped. Ruff clean..code-review/reinstalled.
