    Great! note there is a typo in the quoted script. its gluetun not ton.

    Great.
    I have been testing the container this morning. The gluetun service does not pickup the custom.ovpn file in the /opt/gluetun-data folder.

    It also seems changing the .env file has no effect on the service, as I tried to put a different wireguard conf file in the .env and the service continued to look for the ovpn file (which exists, but it still could not find)

    yes after service restart. unless I'm doing that incorrectly. I'm just running a
    sudo systemctl restart gluetun

    Whats the Output after restart If you Hit journalctl -u gluetun -f?

    Hmmm, i think i got it talking to the conf file now. Not sure what happened there, I was entering a journalctl -u gluetun.service which gives a different output. I'll continue troubleshooting as my conf file is not getting a connection to the vpn

    I tried running it but ran into some issues. Maybe it's because I tested it with a free ProtonVPN configuration. This is my current .env file:
    VPN_SERVICE_PROVIDER=protonvpn
    VPN_TYPE=wireguard
    WIREGUARD_PRIVATE_KEY=XXXXXXXXX

    But I get this error in the logs:

    I’m using torguard. But I’m yet to try the new script as I’ve been travelling last 24 hours. Will report back when I get a chance in next 48

    On my side it seems the error is the same, I made sure the .env file had the PPROF_ENABLED=no but still the error keeps happening in the pprof.new function. I tried with both openvpn configuration and wireguard configuration. Could it be the ProtonVPN provider? @Scales82 which provider are you using?

    I found out what it is, I added:

    PPROF_BLOCK_PROFILE_RATE=0
PPROF_MUTEX_PROFILE_RATE=0
PPROF_HTTP_SERVER_ADDRESS=:6060

    It also crashed after it saying it couldnt find /etc/alpine-release I ran touch /etc/alpine-release and it started working.
    I use protonvpn profile with wireguard.

    Now I see the tunnel up and running:

    3: wg0: <POINTOPOINT,NOARP,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1320 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN group default
    link/none
    inet x.x.x.x/32 scope global wg0
       valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever

    And I can ping 1.1.1.1 again and curl ifconfig.me to see the VPN public IP address.

    I can't tell if its a general issue or a spefic one bound to wireguard. I think it wouldnt do any harm to include at least the

    PPROF_BLOCK_PROFILE_RATE=0
PPROF_MUTEX_PROFILE_RATE=0
PPROF_HTTP_SERVER_ADDRESS=:6060

    part as it clearly needs it in order to start, at least for me then.

    same fix worked for me on torguard. have not tested anything else yet. would like to add a tailscale node to this, use as an exit node via the gluetun VPN if anyone knows how to?
